Maeda was really good once again, and the bats came alive late when they needed to. Not encouraging against a left hander, but they pounced when they had the chance. Sano was really good, and Buxton beat out a single that only a handful of players can beat out. 3 of 5, and need at least one more.

Cruz was laughing because he knew that was true. Buxton is the only player in baseball that could have beaten that out. He’s normally very fast but seems like he was in another gear there

Two outs. They probably were in a step or two because of Buck’s speed, but the infield only needed one out (that they never got).

I watched the replay and they both crossed at nearly the identical time.

 

Had it been a force at home, going for Cruz may have been the better play.

This was right up there with the no hitter Maeda took to the 9th, only he wasn't greedy, and shared it with the other pitcher... even spotted him a sporting advantage.
