An executed hit and run is the most beautiful play in baseball

Especially if it ends with a double and a run scored.

Hate to break it to you, 'sporto, but I'm pretty sure you won't be watching the Twins tomorrow. Off day.

If it's any consolation, I have jokes older than 50.

I apologize for posting this late today but I got stuck on a conference call at work and couldn't get them to hang up. By the way, tomorrow I'm turning 49 years old.  Somehow I just woke up one day and realized I'm going to be almost 50! Where did the time go? If any of you have hit 50 does it feel weird? I probably have more years behind me than I do in front of me (hopefully not but that whole Covid thing is hanging over our heads)...

Happy Birthday! As someone who is closer to 60 than 50, do not fear. 50s are great, especially as those pesky college children become adults. Seeing them eye-to-eye as adults is one of the great joys in life. It technically may not be a cocktail, but I will raise a glass to you tomorrow.

Honestly, Byron. Can you hit it into the gap rather than over the wall? I want to see you run. It is one of the great pleasures in my life.

Congrats on the upcoming 49th!

I have it on good authority that you can be 49 for a long time.

And yeah glad you escaped from those sticky conference calls in time for this.

Thanks for the intro!

I have been 49 for quite some time but I've been 39 for even longer.

Hey gang, can't stick around long but wanted to pop in and say hello and wish our host a Very Happy Birthday!

Oh, to be 49 again! Lol. 54 here and telling you age is still mostly a number. Just gotta keep your head and heart young!

Oh, and listening to Chief's old jokes now and again doesn't hurt!

Just my luck that every run scored tonight has been while in the car, the store, or sneaking away for a "break".

But I'm liking what I'm reading! Everyone contributing! Everyone heating up!

Dick and Jack were just talking about the piped-in noise at Miller. First thing I noticed when I turned on the teevee was that the folks at Miller Park were not blasting music, etc throughout the game. That's a really nice change from Target Field. Sounds like the organist showed up too. Refreshing.

Nice at bats from Sano so far, each of 'em. Encouraging to see his eye improve today.

I noticed the organist too - it's much better than the blaring techno sounds. Not sure why they couldn't just play organ music if they really don't want to bring the organist to the stadium.

Yeah, really. But at some of the recent games I also thought that it's no wonder Sano (and others) have a hard time judging pitches when the umps are not calling them correctly. There were at bats when Sano took pitches and sometimes really great takes but the umpire would just not reward him for it.

And despite the long half inning Maeda comes out in complete control and has only 49 pitches through 5.

He has been even better than I thought.

Needs to go 7 tonight.
