Don Walcott Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Love Kaat, but he turns 81 in NovemberGood point. Maybe he should be running for President instead.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Bert referencing Jim Bibby. I've heard him referred to as the larger brother of an NBA player.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I almost don't want to mention this, but Angel Hernandez has done a nice job at the plate. So far.
jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Love Kaat, but he turns 81 in November Oh, I absolutely don't think he'd be able to do 162 games at his age, but he's still go it up there. But then again, some guys can just keep going forever ... Scully was 88 (I think) when he hung it up.
PDX Twin Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I almost don't want to mention this, but Angel Hernandez has done a nice job at the plate. So far. I suspect that the players know the umpires very well by reputation. Would the Twins be swinging at close pitches (and maybe hitting them the other way) just because he is behind the plate?

jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Ah, got it. Yeah, I can see why Bert wasn't too happy with Anthony. Yeah, that's the kind of joke you make with your friends. I doubt Anthony has many of those.
FLTwinsGuy Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Kind of strange to hear Jack morris talk down a bit about the twins when hes on the detroit broadcast but do the opposite when hes doing games for Minnesota.i get it, but its still a bit annoying
mrtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Verlander no no thru 8 now at 104 pitches
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 I am glad the Bomba record is over,, Just wish Bremer would deal it down a bitIt’s not over. Each one we hit after this is a new record.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Ah, got it. Yeah, I can see why Bert wasn't too happy with Anthony.Bert is very self-deprecating about his HR-allowed record but his skin seems very thin when someone else makes light of it.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Indians losing 4 to 1 in top of 7th inning.
glunn Community Moderator Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Twins could use some insurance runs here.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Twins could use some insurance runs here.Always.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Talking about Harvey Haddix. His 12-inning no-hitter was a perfect game. Bert finally got prompted to say that.
IndyTwinsFan Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Verlander no no thru 8 now at 104 pitchesBut can Houston score, so that it really matters?
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 Houston scores 2 in the top of the ninth.
70charger Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 One batter to go. I definitely switched over the the Houston game.
IndianaTwin Verified Member Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 While playing behind the runner, Turtle just snuck up and pulled Miggy’s shirt-tail out. They’ve been yucking it up pretty good.
