Game Thread "Kirk" Twins @ Rangers 7:05pm cdt 8/17/2019ad (sol-date)

[DocBauer]

Honestly, I'm thinking the late start to the game with HOF induction might have messed with Jose a bit. The velocity is still there.

[DocBauer]

How's his velocity tonight?

From what I have seen, consistent 93-95

[yarnivek1972]

Kepler's would-be sacrifice fly negated by Cave's unproductive strikeout. Cave bunts there, Twins are up three. I know bunting and moving runners over isn't en vogue these days (and many will back that up with stats) but I do appreciate the old get 'em over, get 'em in runs.

Does this look like a game that’s going to be decided by one run?

Baldelli has to try to keep scoring in bunches. Can’t do that by giving away outs.

Besides, the score was 8-2 once. Bunting would probably violate an unwritten rule.

[LVTwinsfan]

Who’s this reliever that looks like Berrios, he’s pretty good

[IndianaTwin]

so 3:45 AM central time then?

Oh, please, no.

How's his velocity tonight?

average 92-93,, hit 95 once

[DocBauer]

Is Berrios opening up too soon? Seems his breaking stuff is wide right.

[Riverbrian]

yikes

I was hoping to come back and say, "what'd I miss" but in a good way

Here's a sabremetric version of what you missed so far in this game.

[Richie the Rally Goat]

How's his velocity tonight?

almost all change/curve in low 80s. Not great command

[LVTwinsfan]

Since Texas didn’t give up after being behind by six runs the Twins should drill one of their hitters

[mrtwinsfan]

Did i dream -it?  scoreless inning

That one blue dot ALMOST made it to 100/100. I had money on him. Drat.

WAY too dark humor not to like!

2 questions:

1. Why can't we do things the easy way?

2. Why can't we have nice things, like many other teams?

[Jake24]

Pure ****

[mrtwinsfan]

Danny Santana with 21 taters,  and people say the ball is the same- c,mon

[Riverbrian]

Needed Zero Hung by Berrios

Because life is drama! And drama is just way more fun!

Has to be true, I read it on the internet.

[DocBauer]

Where is Chief? Anyone check on Chief? Is this game too much for him?

#CLEAR!

On the other hand, I met Patrick Stewart, too ... he loved the references.

I also met Patrick Stewart, in Minneapolis, gave him a taxi ride from the Guthrie where he was going a play to I can't remember where. Super friendly.

Are you saying the self-wipe napkin isn’t a nice thing?

That must have been the Danny Santana dot? Not sure...

[notoriousgod71]

It is really difficult to evaluate any players when the offensive numbers are so out of control.

This Berrios kid seems to know to pitch. Rattled? PLEASE. Something isn't working the way I want? I'll try something else.

It is unwatchable. I typically can't make it through three consecutive innings at this point.

I met him outside of Muffuletta (restaurant) in St Paul. He played Scrooge at the Guthrie maybe 10 years ago.

[DocBauer]

Arraez will start things off here!
