Again, if you’re going to have a sucky bullpen (which we do especially without Rogers and romo), starter needs to go as long as possible. 6 is great I guess for 2019, but he cat throw 187 pitches in 6 innings

His best inning was on pitches 90-whatever thru 109.  The 9-1-2 hitters were coming up and he had owned them.  If he said he had nothing left, fine, pull him.  But I'm guessing based on this day and age, that discussion was likely not had.

He’s not a major league player. Doesn’t pass the eye test or stat test

He passed the eye and stat test last year in 309 PAs compared to this year's 105 PAs. He does have a tendency to make some bone-headed plays in the outfield, I'll give you that. 

 

Or how about this?

 

2019 Marwin Gonzalez first 110 PAs of the year: .200/.277 (.553 OPS)

2019 Jake Cave first 103 PAs: .198/.320 (.623 OPS)

At least the Braves bullpen is about as questionable as ours is.  I mean, they traded for Shane Greene...voluntarily!!

2018:  3 times / 32 starts

2019: 2 times / 22 starts

 

# of times pitched into the 8th inning:

 

2018: 1 time, got 1 out

2019: None

Well, the "goats" will have their opportunities in the bottom of the seventh. I guess I really shouldn't use the term "goat" when the score is tied. Also, Atlanta's BP has been pretty leaky.

In all reality the bullpen gave up 2 singles and the Braves get 2 runs across.  Should have been 2 errors and a passed ball.  That cannot happen.  It doesn't excuse Duffey for hanging the first pitch he threw to Donaldson, but damn help your pitchers out guys.
