Naw he's good.  He rounds out the rotation.  Needs to be more aggressive in the zone.  Might be the guy to start the 3rd game in a playoff series.  Stuff we all know.

 

Why bag on him, though, when he got a shutout going through 5?  Even if it is vs. these Sox.

Well, good teams also have much better batters than the White Sox, Tigers, and Royals do...

He's actually been better against Cleveland, Tampa and Oakland than he has been against the Tigers or Royals. The only contending teams that he's been bad against are the Red Sox and Yankees.

I wasn’t really, but he obviously is pitching with more confidence today, he’s not nibbling. I think if he pitched with that same confidence all the time, he would have similar results no matter what team he was facing
