They can just go ahead announce they're picking up Cruz's option for next year any time.

Twins have a bad history with giving extensions early....

I still scratch my head over giving Phil Hughes even more money after his decent season

I would like to see a comparison of Gibson’s stats against losing teams vs teams with winning records

Here it is, thanks to Baseball Reference:

WP lower than .500: hitters have a .229/.274/.405 (.679 OPS) vs Gibson

WP equal to or greater than .500: hitters have a .277/.352/.421 (.773 OPS) vs Gibson

And also:

In 9 wins, hitters against Gibson hit .196/.232 (.536 OPS).

In 4 losses, hitters against Gibson hit .352/.414 (.982 OPS).

In 8 non-decisions, hitters against Gibson hit .276/.366 (.854 OPS).

Not ask a silly question, but what's the point? I'm guessing most pitchers get hit hard in their losses... and most tend to do better against bad teams. That's pretty normal.  Can we tell if the delta is bigger for Kyle?

thanks , about what I thought, good teams get into his head I think

The Twins seem to have the right approach to AH behind the plate: Just hit the ball really hard and it doesn't really matter if it's called a ball or strike.

I aprove of this attitude.

If the Twins are able to once again pull away from Cleveland, the timing of Cleveland’s surge will have stopped them from selling and restocking, so that would be nice.

Well, good teams also have much better batters than the White Sox, Tigers, and Royals do...

He’s about .7 runs per 9 innings better against under.500 teams and pitches a little deeper into games.

About what you would expect.

Sox pen has done a nice job so far

It's nice to see a jinx land on the other team once in a while...
