LVTwinsfan Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 The news is actually better than you think. Because there are 10 games against Cleveland yet to go, all the Twins need to do is win 56 of their remaining 62 - there is no way to do that without beating Cleveland at least 4 times, increasing their loss column while we pad our win column. Yay math! https://s2.smu.edu/~olinick/riot/american_league.html56 minus Indians losses that are not against the Twins.... I think maybe

GCTF Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I wonder what Trebek would have done if someone had answered a statement in that form of a question...

VATwinsFan Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Odorizzi on a mission this evening?
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 56 minus Indians losses that are not against the Twins.... I think maybeMagic numbers are all about assuming nothing about the opponents. If they win out, it comes down to how many wins you need. It's just that if the remaining schedule has interesting texture, sometimes you can infer a little extra, as in this case.
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Do that again. And then again and again and again.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Great inning, and only 8 minutes long
Diesel Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Indians update: up 1-0 midway through the 5th. A nice showing of offense up North this series
GCTF Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Eight more of those, please.Ha. Ypu fixed before I could get my extra inning post in.
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Stroman is on the mound for the Jays tonight so, naturally, the offense has been no-hit through four innings.
luckylager Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Did my watch stop or did that half inning take less than a half hour?!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 The more I think about it, the less sense it makes to bench Kepler over Polanco against a lefty when both probably need the rest. Adrianza could have filled in for Jorge tonight.
ashbury Verified Member Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Cruz digs hard and legs out a single to right.

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I LOVE THIS GUY!!!!!!!!! ROSIE!
Brock Beauchamp Site Manager Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 This team looks beaten, for sure.
