Cruz overshooting just a bit on his bid for the triple and the cycle. About 150 feet or so.

As nice as his 2 HRs on the game are, I loved watching him leg out that double

Wembley looks a lot like the LA Coliseum when the Dodgers moved to California in the 1950s. The porches look really short.

 

Not at Wembley, I think. It's at West Ham's London Stadium from the Olympics.

Wonder what the rule is if he just stopped at third. :)

 

Bonus points for original thinking, but it looks like the rule book says no, on a totally lame technicality about not replacing the ball until the player crosses HP.

 

"After a thrown or batted ball goes out of the playing field, play shall not be resumed with an alternate ball until the runners have reached the bases to which they are entitled. After a home run is hit out of the playing grounds, the umpire shall not deliver a new ball to the pitcher or the catcher until the batter hitting the home run has crossed the plate."

On a completely unrelated note, the engines of a UChicago air ambulance could be heard spooling up less than a minute later...

The exchange between Dick and Bert was pretty funny, when Bert said that he thought Cruz would rather hit it out of the park and take his time rounding the bases.

 

Boom and Bert is ribbing Dick.

That's the game I remember this team playing.  Still have the chance to achieve the goal of 2 out of 3 every series.  Giolito will be a tall task tomorrow.
