snotboogie Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Astudillo is the real dealIt's like he makes up for his chubby body by having his head in the game.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Whoa... Was that Dick with a call on the K?
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 just like you drew it up in the infield dirt
David HK Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Jake. Solid. That was awesome. Again--
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 what happened to eddie? He came up lame after rounding first trying to stretch a single into a double. It's unclear what part of which of his legs are hurting or how badly. All we know is that he wasn't able to reach second (I believe he would have been out of by mile) and threw his helmet angrily to the ground and then proceeded to limp back to the dugout.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Astudillo in some ways reminds me of Rosario when he first came up. Much like Rosario, Astudillo has his frustrating and yet also his amazing moments. And, good job, Mr. Odorizzi, getting out of that one!

twins_89 Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Rooker has been on fire at Rochester, I'm wondering if he gets called up.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Heh... I have a love/hate relationship with those mlb highlights they show between innings, but-- How do you show a highlight-reel catch, when your "MLB Highlights" logo completely obscures the play you're trying to highlight?
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 hes a good ball player. Who cares what he looks likeExactly my point about sideline reporters! (ha ha?)
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 very superstitious writing on the wall.

I hope he's OK soon.

LaBombo Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 hes a good ball player. Who cares what he looks like Completely agree, but will also add... my daughter cares. Her assessment of WA: 'He's pretty good, he's really fun to watch, and he's what [our dog] would look like if she could play baseball'. Our dog is a pug, and ever so slightly on the portly side. Not coincidentally, one of her favorite Twins is Kirby, who left the game years before she was born. I'm guessing she's not the only casual fan who likes WA because of that bit of body type similarity. Edit: Almost forgot; she also likes his "crazy hair".

Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Watching Rays broadcast. Why is nearly every sideline reporter a pretty blond woman?1) How does MLB get away with this obvious sexism?2) Wouldn't Marney Gellner be better than Dan Gladden in the radio booth? And better than Dick or Jack in the TV booth? she is (present tense). The spring training games she called play by play on were great! https://www.mlb.com/twins/news/marney-gellner-wraps-up-twins-play-by-play-stint I’d love for her and Morneau to take over for Dick and Bert

bighat Verified Member Posted June 27, 2019 Posted June 27, 2019 Looks like the Twins have gone deep in their bench - Sano's playing! Seriously though, just saw the news about Rosario. Hopefully it's just a tweaked ankle. Would hate to hear if it's a hamstring or groin pull. Did anyone speculate yet as to what it was?

I liked the Atteberry-Provys combo on ‘CCO a couple weeks ago. Gellner is a pro, after a week, she’d have the rough edges smoothed. No more seasoning needed. She’s ready, I hope she gets her shot next season, at least a large chunk of next season.
