I don't get the reluctance to give Astudillo regular at bats.

In this case, he does give you some versatility in the double-switch department.

There must be some unknown-to-us calculus happening here:*

Maybe 600 PA, or nearly full time player over the course of a season, in MLB, equals a .275 Tortuga with strikeouts,

while 350 PA scattered through a season equals a .340 Tortuga.

Or something. Not sure. Because I do think he can hit well over .300 with semi regular playing time.

But maybe not?

True or False:

Willians Astudillo is a top 3 offensive catcher in the league.

you mean, right now, at .667?

[Mike Sixel]

And for the record, I'm definitely team Cheese Whiz over provolone on cheesesteak.

As is any decent human

Really? First I heard of this from you. Jumping on the bandwagon then?

[BoofBonser]

Come on Eddie...

[mrtwinsfan]

Eddie and Patience, dont work well together,

[MMMordabito]

Looks like we'll get to see more of Martin Perez today.

[Vanimal46]

Not how you draw it up. Gonna be a bullpen game.

[mudcat14]

Just sick of Odorizzi constantly pitching from behind in the count. Throws way, way, way too many pitches. If he won’t adjust, get rid of him. Again, sick of it.

[MMMordabito]

Odorizzi should just ditch the curve already ... He can't throw it over

[Vanimal46]

That 1B ump got smoked in the wrist by a line drive. Ouch!

[Don Walcott]

I finally get to watch a full game. At home. Alone. And I find myself rooting for the rain.

[Vanimal46]

Painful. Didn't even finish the inning.

[BoofBonser]

It's one thing to have no presence on the mound whatsoever

But to take soooooo long between pitches when it's 40 degrees and raining is ignorant

Horrible outing for Jake, hope he's warm in the clubhouse

Rain, anyone?

[Don Walcott]

They take that 35 pitches in an inning thing seriously.

[drock2190]

Way to go ODOR! Not only did you pitch yourself out of the game, the Twins fielders now all have soaked underwear!

[TheLeviathan]

That's more like the Odorizzi I know!

[MMMordabito]

Haha ... Here, Harper, take a drink from this firehose to wash down the $h sandwich I'm handing you.

[Don Walcott]

Almost a little league homer there.

[Vanimal46]

Good God. Ugly baseball.

[BoofBonser]

What on Earth is Jake Cave doing?

[BoofBonser]

Haha ... Here, Harper, take a drink from this firehose to wash down the $h sandwich I'm handing you.

Lucky hit. Wasn't even his fault

[Jham]

"looks like we're going to squeeze this game in!"

Odo - "Hold my beer. no seriously, I've been drinking."

[Hosken Bombo Disco]

Cave can’t just stand out in the outfield, holding the ball and wondering what base to throw to, while the baserunners are all in there running around the bases.

He can. And he did.

[BoofBonser]

This was an accurate depiction of what would happen if Odorizzi started a playoff game against the Red Sox or Yankees. Scared
