I don't get the reluctance to give Astudillo regular at bats.

In this case, he does give you some versatility in the double-switch department.

There must be some unknown-to-us calculus happening here:* 

 

Maybe 600 PA, or nearly full time player over the course of a season, in MLB, equals a .275 Tortuga with strikeouts,

 

while 350 PA scattered through a season equals a .340 Tortuga. 

 

Or something. Not sure. Because I do think he can hit well over .300 with semi regular playing time. 

 

But maybe not?

 

 

 

*using Batting Average as a short-hand for any/all general offense production

Just sick of Odorizzi constantly pitching from behind in the count. Throws way, way, way too many pitches. If he won’t adjust, get rid of him. Again, sick of it.

It's one thing to have no presence on the mound whatsoever

But to take soooooo long between pitches when it's 40 degrees and raining is ignorant 

Horrible outing for Jake, hope he's warm in the clubhouse

Cave can’t just stand out in the outfield, holding the ball and wondering what base to throw to, while the baserunners are all in there running around the bases.
