gil4 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Scott Klingenbeck is 2 years older than Bartolo Colon. Let that sink in for a moment. So it's more realistic than I thought. I would have guessed he was older than that.
Han Joelo Verified Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 The one I like to trot out: Bartolo Colon was born the day before Todd Walker. You mean this guy?

nater79a Verified Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Yup. I hope it's Romero, and they just let Rochester do a bullpen game on Saturday. Although I suppose the Twins could do a bullpen game on Sunday instead, but that would feel pointless. Knowing how the Twins work things they'll probably try to get five innings between Duffey and Moya - then option both out after the game for Busenitz + another body.

Radke retired 12 years ago. He’s been retired for as long as he was a MLB player.
gil4 Verified Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 The one I like to trot out: Bartolo Colon was born the day before Todd Walker.I think I have intentionally buried that era of Twins teams further back in my mind than it actually was.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 What is the injury to Mejia?Sprained/strained wrist. It happened during the game he last pitched. Initial reports were that they thought he'd still be able to make his next start ... apparently not.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2018 Author Posted August 10, 2018 What is the injury to Mejia?Hopefully just the wrist: https://www.twincities.com/2018/08/10/twins-place-adalberto-mejia-on-dl-call-up-slugging-tyler-austin/ Throwing a one-hit shutout through five innings, he was removed after just 68 pitches when he felt “a stinging effect in the lower left forearm — closer to the wrist — that radiated up through the elbow,” according to manager Paul Molitor.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Yup, it is a game theory exercise. Me? I'd like to see what he does in the majors, if I'm the Twins. I think someone selects him next year, there are some really bad teams/staffs out there. He's worth a risk, imo, for someone. I don't know why he's not already in the pen in Rochester. If they want to stick him in the pen in the majors I guess I don't care at this point but I don't think I care to see him start for the Twins.

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Sounds like it will be Kohl Stewart. How about that.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2018 Author Posted August 10, 2018 Sounds like it will be Kohl Stewart. How about that.Wow, you are right. He will get the 40-man spot vacated by Rodney. Should be interesting. https://twitter.com/MikeBerardino/status/1028037201907605506?s=20

Well played, Falvey.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Easy one. Romero. $20 says he's up Sunday to start and either Drake is gone or, please let it be true, Morrison is gone. I’ll take that $20! http://twinsdaily.com/topic/30982-article-report-twins-to-promote-kohl-stewart-for-his-mlb-debut/
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Wait. So they managed to figure out a way to make me want to watch another game this season. Well played, Falvey.I was just thinking this exactly. I was just going to post this same thought in another thread.
DocBauer Old-Timey Member Posted August 10, 2018 Posted August 10, 2018 Really dont understand keeping Gonsalves down any longer, even though he doesn't match up for this weekend. Let him get his feet wet! He might have a rough first outing or two, but so what if he does? He's one of our best pitching prospects. Let him gain some experience. Romero should be up too. I agree with a 6 man rotation at this point. Very aggressive and surprising on Stewart! Unexpected! But I love the move! I love the challenge! Still doesn't excuse Gonsalves still not getting up here ASAP.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Report: Adalberto Mejia sidelined because of nerve traction injury Mejia was diagnosed with a nerve traction injury above his left elbow and will undergo more tests, according to the Pioneer Press. This is not an ulnar nerve injury so that’s the good news.Mejia originally landed on the disabled list on Friday because of a left wrist strain that forced him to leave Tuesday’s game against Cleveland. It turned out to be more than that.
Doomtints Verified Member Posted August 12, 2018 Posted August 12, 2018 Mejia is 7th on the team in bWAR this year after appearing in just five games. He is sure to pass Dozier for the year should he ever return (1.2 v. 1.0 bWAR).
