Well yeah, but this whole using a position player to pitch. It happens way more than it needs to. I get that the game is lost, but it’s more of a sideshow than anything.

You're making the same mistake that everyone, including me, had been making since he re-entered the building two months ago: you're assuming that his presence on the roster is predicated in some way on his getting major league hitters out well enough to contribute to the team somehow.

 

It's pretty clear now that it's not.
