Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Detroit announcers on the 2-strike hits: "Paul Molitor must be going crazy in the dugout. That's a no-no." I agree. MoY has to be crazy to think he can get by the RPE and the ARE in order to get to the FRE.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Reed is now on pace to earn his 5th loss of the season. Would this be a bad time to bring up reliever overuse or is that beating a dead horse at this point?
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Having failed to give up a hit on the first 0-2 pitch in the middle of the plate, Reed repeats his effort, and succeeds.
D. Hocking Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Does anyone know if that Raccoon can pitch? She seems like she would have nerves of steel and is free tonight.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Wow, I would have never guessed Grossman had that strong of an arm!
jud6312 Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I don't care if Kepler's scuffling with the bat ... get Grossman out of the field NOW. I'm embarrassed for him after that throw.
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Why does Molitor continue to bring Reed in? He's been struggling mightily over the last two weeks. Give him some lower leverage situations. Rogers has been lights out lately, bring him in!Maybe Molitor will figure this out. One game too late.
bighat Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 It seems like Reed is a sure bet to give up 1 run in the 8th every other appearance. And tonight it's 2 runs*. Cost us the game, yet again. He's been awful for 3 weeks and Molitor shouldn't be using him. Terrible offense yet again for this team. Another bad game, this was getting old last month, nothing has changed. If Molitor can't motivate this group of guys then it's on the front office to start the youth movement and rebuild. It's time for one or the other to happen. *Edit: make that 4 runs.
Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Wow, I would have never guessed Grossman had that strong of an arm!We could really use Granite's noodle arm out there, it'd at least save us from Grossman's complete ineptitude.
Don Walcott Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 In retrospect, maybe a defensive replacement for Grossman?
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Well, in his generation, the light bulb was greatI'm sure in his mind the game was flawless in his day. Unfortunately, there is too much data available on everything now that the game can't be and won't be played like that anymore. Gotta get with the times. Baseball evolves. The world evolves. The only thing constant is change.
nicksaviking Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Belisle = worth every penny.

David HK Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Really, seriously, are we trying to win games this year, or using this season to massage some veteran pitchers' egos? I am so done with MoY, and have been for a long time. Maybe Falvine with figure it out, too. This team is a mess right now, and the resources we have are not being marshaled well at all.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 In retrospect, maybe a defensive replacement for Grossman?Nothing falls but raindrops.
Halsey Hall Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I was so afraid Berrios wouldn't get the win. Another quality start wasted. Reed has been a disappointment this year.
David HK Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I think he needs a 7-day vacation.Like at least 7 days ago.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I have to wonder where on the list of reliever futility giving up 3 0-2 hits to three nobodies ranks.
jtkoupal Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 1. What in God's name is Grossman doing in Right Field at this point in the game? 2. The probability of an inning like this happening is miniscule. All these hits happening in pitcher's counts with mostly good pitches. This kind of inning, under these conditions, might only happen once every several hundred observations. Unfortunately, that's just how things are going for the Twins this year 3. The Twins are going to lose this series (against a bad team) even though the White Sox are giving us a lot of much-needed help. This is checking every box of a non-contender/seller.
drock2190 Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 Hey guys! Have been really busy for the past week or so, haven't had time to pay attention to the team. Did I miss anything?
bighat Verified Member Posted June 14, 2018 Posted June 14, 2018 I have to wonder where on the list of reliever futility giving up 3 0-2 hits to three nobodies ranks. The Tigers' Victor Reyes was 2-for-17 with nine strikeouts after 0-2 counts this season, before lacing that RBI single off Reed.
