Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 To clarify what 'no negativity' means in game threads, as it certainly doesn't mean be positive all the time, because, yuck ... I mean who wants to say, 'Yipppeeee!!!! Our pitcher gave up a grand slam! Yay! I'm so happy!' ... Watch the game, comment on the game, shake your head about whatever, get excited about whater, say ****! ****! ****! about whatever, say 'YESSSS!' about whatever, be critical about manager choices as they happen (and not as a retrospective for all time), be depressed if we lose, give kudos when good things happen, and eat chicken when we win ... but stay away from pre-determination of awfulness before it happens, or turning the game thread into an ongoing discussion about why so and so is still on the team and how awful they are, or the FO should've done this or that. We have many discussion threads on many topics ... if you want to go on and on about a particular topic, topic threads are the place for it. Game threads are for real time, real action, at-the-moment discussion, good or bad, not an unloading of should've, would've, could've about the existance and state of the current Twins, and not to vomit all over the place. And if you want to throw in stupid jokes along the way (Chief), or talk about Dick's ties (new member bashbury), or what you're grilling/grilled today (yes, we all know it's chicken but elaborate), or what you're baking while watching the game ... levity and side bars about nothing will either make the good better or the bad tolerable. That's what game threads are for. Here's the way to look at it from "The Life of (who else?) Brian". Riverbrian, glunn, OTPS300 and 2 others 5

jtkoupal Verified Member Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 The Twins blew a plethora of opportunities in Seattle over the weekend. They easily could have won at least 1, maybe even 2 games. They are headed to KC, a place they could very well find some success. However, if the offense sputters like it has, it doesn't matter who they face. The Twins really could use a sweep, but taking at least 2 is necessary. They can't afford to do worse. At all. Fun with Probability:*Projections via FiveThirtyEight Monday: 50% Win ProbabilityTuesday: 55% Twins favoritesWednesday: 56% Twins favorites Probability of a Twins Sweep: 15.4%Probability of a Royals Sweep: 9.9% The Twins currently sit with a 16% chance at a playoff berth... mostly powered by the 12% chance of winning the division thanks to Cleveland's run of mediocre baseball. jun Verified Member Posted May 28, 2018 Posted May 28, 2018 Padres designated left-hander Kyle McGrath for assignment to make room for Phil Hughes. McGrath should be better than Rogers. The 25-year-old has a 3.13 ERA. He limited left-handed hitter to an ugly .152/.243/250 line. He has three options remaining. glunn and Mill1634 2
