Platoon Verified Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 According to my weather spies, the game should start on time. There might be a delay around 8:20 that lasts maybe half an hour. By that time the 5th inning will be over and the Twins will have the game safely in hand. Let it rain, let it rain let it rain!
Nine of twelve Verified Member Posted May 3, 2018 Posted May 3, 2018 Well, last season he didn't do any home games, so maybe that changed again for this season. Edit: Yep ... he's only doing Sunday day games at home. That's it. I know the previous season (or two) he was off home games because he'd drive back and forth to his home somewhere in Indiana between games, and that was too much for him, so he was in the booth for away games. But this year ... home games, only on Sunday afternoons. I think it said he's only doing 20 games this year, so far reduced from past seasons.20 games too many. Squirrel and Riverbrian 2
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Rain is coming ... but likely won't see the worst of it until after game time ... that's my prediction.

Was that wishful thinking? Are you a meteorologist? Did you bring an umbrella? . Taken alone none of these questions has relevance. But in total they go a long way to determing the accuracy of your forecast. Riverbrian 1

I'm working tonight so not at the game. Was not wishful thinking, just keep looking at Wunderground.Definitely not a meteorologist.Yes, I brought an umbrella with me to work today because when work is over around 10pm, I have to go home and thought it might be raining then. Not that any of this is any of your business, but whatever. Riverbrian and Platoon 2
ewen21 Verified Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Hawk hilarious like him or not. I will never forget watching the Royals taking out the White Sox for us at the end of the 2006 season. However, there was a game earlier that September where Mark Redman pitched for the Royals and he (inexplicably) shut down the White Sox for seven innings. The White Sox came up the next inning and I believe they tied the game on a Thome home run. When the Royals got up in the bottom of the 8th they staged a ridiculous rally where nothing was hit hard. A walk or two, maybe an error, a miscue, some humpback singles.....with the game slipping away, Hawk was losing his mind. It all came to a head when Paul Bako came up with the bases loaded and two outs. He fisted a ball that gyroed just over the pitcher's head and landed safely on the infield grass just before second base. It couldn't be fielded cleanly and two runs scored. I will never forget this. This took place at my friend's house (he was an early MLB TV guy)after we'd golfed earlier in the day so we were coasting down beers and feeling good, but what Hawk said after the replay stands out as one of the last pee in the pants moments I have had. They played the replay and there was a five second pause of silence, but then Hawk mumbled in disgust......"THAT is the epitome.....of a Sporting News base hit" For whatever reason my friend ran out of the room into his kitchen because he just couldn't stand it. I spit out some beer and we laughed for a solid two or three minutes straight. Even to this day, I only need to say "Paul Bako" to my friend and it throws him. A true "you had to be there" moment Riverbrian 1

David HK Verified Member Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Little notes from MLB network: The Twins bullpen has given up a .850 OPS, worst in baseball. For those worried about the Twins start, they have 56 game left vs White Sox, Tigers and Royals. However, I shudder at the thought of the White Sox, Tigers, and Royals licking their chops because our team is coming to town with their .850 OPS... He looked good in ST, but then again, it was ST
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 4, 2018 Author Posted May 4, 2018 This game is all about opportunity and timing for guys like Adrianaza and Petit. When Sano went down it was an opportunity for Adrianaza to prove something to someone. He went 3 for 16. So Molitor gave Petit a try and he has gone 4 for 8. More hits in half the attempts. I think Molly should keep giving Petit some AB's until we trade for Carlos Correa. Mike Sixel and mickeymental 2
