I’d say it’s looking like we’ll be sellers come August, except I have no idea what players on this team will draw any interest whatsoever.

Reed? Pressly maybe?

More like sellers in June.

The GM's that passed on Yu Darvish 5 years $120mm and Lance Lynn 4 year $80mm dollar contracts look genius.  The deal we got for Lynn was still good. I think...

The days of huge contracts for pitchers over 30 are clearly going to decline in the future.

Sorry, just ranting.

Lynn should finish the 5th. Don't care how many pitches it takes....

Yep, and berrios should never have been pulled after only 3 yesterday. I can’t stomach more bullpen

Yup—every 3rd/4th/5th starter approaching free agency secretly wants to murder Lance Lynn right now. Also Tony Clark.

What is John Gibbons doing? Even if Pillar is safe, the Blue Jays have 5 more innings against Twins pitching. They’ll have plenty more opportunities to score runs.

Yes, the Twins will certainly be saying “mayday” tomorrow.

This didn’t happen on May Day, but I feel like it’s relevant to our team

Wtf was Mauer doing there?

That is a good question. If he is aware of where Dozier was positioned he would cover first.

However... I'll take a guy over trying over a guy under trying like Rosario laying up on that ball.

I sent an email about this to an umpire friend. I'll see if he responds while the game thread is still active.

I could answer that question for ya -- it's pretty easy to see if the ball is touching the line or not as it's rolling.  If you see brown dirt between the ball and the line, then it's foul.  But like anything else in umpiring, it's the angle that you have as you're looking at it.  The HP umpire should be straddling the line looking straight down at it.  It's possible that Garver's positioning blocked out the umpire and he may have had to move a little off that normal angle and that may have skewed what he saw, especially if he moved to the foul side of Garver to look at it.
