sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 How did we win a series against the Astros I think we might have played well.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 I think we might have played well.I think the question is still HOW Blake and BoofBonser 2
Danchat Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Weird stuff happens when it’s 28 degrees and you play baseballWait, I thought we were done with the cold weather excuses? The pitchers and batters showed up and we beat them. Later we were swept by the Rays. Are we better than the Astros and worse than the Rays? No, but stuff like that happens frequently in sports. You're never going to win all of the easy games and lose all of the hard ones.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 My lineup for tomorrow: 1. Dozier2. Kepler3. Escobar4. Garver (because somebody's gotta catch)5. --6. --7. -- 8. --9. -- Everyone else can stay at the hotel Mike Sixel 1
adorduan Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 For all the calls to go out and get starting pitching, so far, the home grown Twins (Berrios, Gibson) have been a lot better than the acquired pitchers (Odorizzi, Lynn).

You're never going to win all of the easy games and lose all of the hard ones.My point was that the weather was so extreme I’m not sure it was an equal test of talent or ability. It’s like playing a football game in a mud pit. The weather neutralizes things. And also, we did blow a 7 run lead in one of the wins so it wasn’t really spotless anyway

twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 I'm getting so depressed...I might just post the lineups tomorrow with a crisis hotline number. Platoon, Hosken Bombo Disco, Mike Sixel and 2 others 5
David HK Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Found it! Hahahahahahahahahaha, his arrogance is hilarious. Too bad he flamed out so early. He was a classic heel.Heh.... I was at the game at Shea the first time he came to NY since the woebegone SI article came out. Those fans were out for blood, and it was packed in the stands overlooking the bullpen area. They had cops lining the whole section, and wouldn't let anyone near the fence along the BP. Rocker came out between innings at one point to warm up the left fielder, and I never heard such a cascade of Bronx cheers (albeit in Queens). After the warmup throws, he casually tossed the ball into the stands as a souvenir, and the guy who caught it fired it right back at him. He earned a ton of cheers, and a helpful escort out of the park by the boys in blue.
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 I don't understand all the fuss about Garver...yeah he is someone "new", but he hasn't produced much either. And I am one of the biggest Castro critics you can find. Platoon and USAFChief 2
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 I'm getting so depressed...I might just post the lineups tomorrow with a crisis hotline number. Then what am I supposed to do with all of this extra Scotch that I bought for tomorrow?! twinssporto 1
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Then what am I supposed to do with all of this extra Scotch that I bought for tomorrow?!Keep it. We still may play a drinking game. If the depression keeps me in bed past noon it's gonna be 1-800 numbers and lineups. wsnydes 1
Platoon Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Then what am I supposed to do with all of this extra Scotch that I bought for tomorrow?! Remember, it's a marathon. You will find lots of use for it. Hosken Bombo Disco and wsnydes 2

David HK Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Heh... Judge, Didi, and the newly-awakened Stanton coming up-- Volunteers to throw an inning? Good time to have a class now.....
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 I forget... What's a Chief joke sound like? Hosken Bombo Disco 1
twinssporto Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Not 1-900?Actually, posting one of those 1-900 chat lines we could all call into during the game thread would be fun. It's only $15 per minute. Platoon 1
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Hildy going down after this game or what? Why would he pitch so many innings? Hosken Bombo Disco and Danchat 2

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Well at least you guys still have the wolves *looks at score, ducks* Mike Sixel and Danchat 2
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2018 Author Posted April 24, 2018 Another missed 3rd strike by the ump leads to a run.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 Absolutely absurd that was called a ball. And it costs a run.
yarnivek1972 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 They are getting work in.I sense sarcasm. However. Didn’t Busenitz throw 20 pitches yesterday?
Mill1634 Verified Member Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 At least we get to see Kinley again? Also, what is the move when Buxton gets activated? You could make a case for 4 or 5 guys to go, imo. Mike Sixel and David HK 2
