I did. Live within a few miles of several faults. The San Andreas is about 50 miles from where I live. No big deal.

Besides, not only does the Midwest have Tornadoes, snow, ice, blizzards and mosquitoes, there's also the New Madrid fault. You know, the one that made the Mississippi flow backwards.

Out here, it's earthquakes, fires and the occasional mud slide.

I think we're ahead of the game. :)

I knew there was a good reason why Mississippi is such a backwards state. No fault of their own.

The twins sure love taking ball 4/strike 3 on the corner with runners in scoring position.

If there is something we lead the league in, I think that's it.  I know I'm not alone barking at the broadcast when one of those pitches comes in.  I mean, come on, little leaguers learn not to leave a close pitch up to the ump.  Foul it off, for chrissakes- you can't just take a borderline pitch in those situations.

No Bremer on this broadcast?  How will I know to get excited about a routine fly to left?

Or what left field seat Kirby Pucket hit with that line drive homer on a Tuesday back in 1990 when the wind was out of the east and Tom Kelly had just opened his second bag of seeds.

According to gameday, the last two pitches were above Spangenberg's head.

And he swung at one of them.

I wouldn't trust gameday.

I just read this in the Southern California Times.

"Tuesday August 1st, the city of San Diego is rationing hits due to an unplanned shortage of them.

I like your thinking.

Other than the fact its 10:30 at night on a weeknight.

Didn't stop me.

Hehehe.

For those watching: was that a legitimate hit or a play that likely would have been an error 20 years ago? Gameday says "singled to third baseman Sano".

Legit hit. Tapper that Sano made a nice barehanded play on, just took too long with how slow the ball was moving.

Not much more than a swinging bunt and then a tough play that Kepler could have made off his glove.  I knew I shouldn't have turned on the game.
