Winning means no longer grieving. Sunshine is a known cure for depression. The final stages apparently get our hopes back up so we have to go through the 5 stages again?
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Author Posted June 21, 2017 I think you're on to something there Van. You and Sample should combine the stores and call it Cobbler & Cobbler Co. The potential for cross utilization of supplies is enormous. Run out of shoe shine? Sub chocolate sauce. Run out of chocolate sauce? Sub shoe shine! You can sub shoe shine for caramel sauce as well. You can sub the shoes for bowls. Talk about the eco benefits here. No longer using disposable plastic bowls that contribute to climate change. Just grab a shoe and serve it up.

gocgo Verified Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Ladies and gents, I apologize. I checked out for about a week and we went on a 4 day losing streak. Last night, I tuned in to the game...you know the results. That Cleveland debacle is on me. OK, so here we sit 1.5 out with some obvious holes to fill, but at least we are only 1.5 out! Compared to where I feared we would be and compared to last year, I'll take it. A few key injuries could throw us into a tailspin, but the same could be said for every team. I love our outfield...minus Grossman but even that could be worse as I watched the pale hose RF commit errors 8 and 9 on back to back pitches last night. I'm starting to love our infield. I don't love our starting pitching and I can't even think about our bullpen. We dodged a bullet last night, but we didn't manage to dodge any against Cleveland, so it all evens out. We need a winning streak...like a 5 gamer. One down, 4 to go.

Let us see what the chairperson says when he gets to this thread? I think John Chapman set a good precident with his hat...
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 This is the most gamethread of gamethreads. Plus I learn things (today is summer solstice, shoe shine substitutes for chocolate sauce, Vanimal has ambitions, although perhaps a bit modest, etc) Peach cobbler on a shoestring for everyone!

The synergistic benefits are only limited by our imagination. Stomp the grapes waiting room. Advert treads leave an impression. "Pardon me boy, is this the Pennsylvania station?" ... Sure, and is that peach and pepper potage? And artichoke soufflé?"

John Kelsey Verified Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Think i'm going to head over to Target Field tonight. They're 0-4 when I'm there this year so I will shoulder the blame for this impending loss.
spinowner Provisional Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 My wife has a large quantity of shoes... If shoe repair and ice cream don't mix, you don't know shoe repair and I will not be frequenting a cobbler shop that you are the proprietor of! ChiTown could keep two shoe repair shops in business full time.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 21, 2017 Posted June 21, 2017 Just how many shoes are you expecting to repair? And I'm quite sure shoe repair and ice cream don't mix.I'm quite sure everything mixes with ice cream. It's a rule of life.

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 When you start that, let me know. We can have a cobbler corner, where Chi and I start a Peach Cobbler shop! I'm going with Corn on the Cobbler

I disagree If Walmart can have optometryIf Sears has a tire shopIf K-Mart does open heart surgery A Shoe Repair Shop can sell ice cream!!! Actually... I believe every single business on earth should sell Ice Cream.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Ugh... Castro should have caught that and we'd still have a 0-0 game. IMO that should be an unearned run for Berrios.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 The ball Jason.......the ball first.
70charger Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 Does Rosario make that throw? If he doesn't, who is the first to say he should have gone to second? (I know, I know, it was a closer play.)
Taildragger8791 Verified Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 I'm not loving the omen being projected by this Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn haircut that Berrios is rocking.
Minnesotatwins005 Provisional Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 That's the second time I've seen Castro missed a one hopper to him at the plate that should've resulted in a out.

spinowner Provisional Member Posted June 22, 2017 Posted June 22, 2017 The bunt strategy wasn't bad there, but the bunt execution was horrible.
