ashbury Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Tuned in late, Tillman really missing his spots.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Two foul pop-outs. Gross. I hope this doesn't come back to haunt us.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Should have scored way more there. Shame on Gimenez and Buxton. Good on the rest of 'em! Polanco's really heating up!
Blake Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 The good news: The Twins loaded the bases again. The bad news: The Twins left the bases loaded again.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Great to get 3 runs, but man, you had a chance to do some damage and we have Gimenez and Buck up there...somewhat predictable results.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Let's hope Berrios brings out that cool, calm, "having fun state of mind" that Santana is pitching with right now.
wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 The good news: The Twins loaded the bases again. The bad news: The Twins left the bases loaded again.I liked this only because of how painfully true it is.
Bill Provisional Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I wonder if Rosario is ever given the take sign. Is there such a thing as the take sign?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Baltimore Color Guy: "I don't think Berrios is as good as his numbers right now". Wait, you're saying Berrios is NOT the greatest pitcher in baseball history? Bold.
bighat Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Great to get 3 runs, but man, you had a chance to do some damage and we have Gimenez and Buck up there...somewhat predictable results. Could have locked up the game there with a couple hits from those guys. They failed miserably. On the plus side, the way Tillman's pitching they might have another chance with the top of the lineup.
TwinsCD Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Along the same lines of the pranks mentioned earlier, baseball teams have traditionally had a prank where they send a clubhouse boy or new bat boy to the bullpen to get the key to the batter's box. Stories I've heard about this happening never cease to be funny.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 The Baltimore color guy is now saying he doesn't think Berrios has the best stuff on the Twins staff. I'd love to know who has better.
John Kelsey Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Cut Gimenez. But he's a good "clubhouse guy"!!!!
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Should have scored way more there. Shame on Gimenez and Buxton. Good on the rest of 'em! Polanco's really heating up!And once again, Mauer fails to drive in a run.
twinssporto Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Author Posted May 24, 2017 I really like the batting order today. Seems loaded with potential.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Man these Baltimore guys are just as bad as ours. Baltimore play-by-play guy: "Well, last year, Berrios was 21. This year, [pause for effect] he's 22."
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 During college, I worked at MSP airport as a baggage handler. Once we had a new guy, and told him the next flight had a number of oversized bags, and we would therefore need a "bin stretcher" (a bin being the name for the baggage compartments in the bottom of the plane). We took it to the next level by letting him know that we didn't own one, so he would need to go to United to borrow theirs. Once he left, we called United, told them the gag, and had them send him onto another airline. An hour and 6 airlines later, he returned, very embarrassed he was unable to complete the task set for him. This sounds shockingly like the breast plate stretcher...
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 And once again, Mauer fails to drive in a run. Not only that, the bum didn't even get on base!
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 This sounds shockingly like the breast plate stretcher... Which reminds me of the time in college my fraternity brother got drunk and started telling women he was an "FBI". It went well--until it didn't.

wsnydes Old-Timey Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 And once again, Mauer fails to drive in a run.But Baltimore was batting!
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 Berrios brings a bundle of nervous energy, but he appears to have it under control. Three quick outs, good.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I've liked this Polanco kid since the first moment I saw him when they called him up from single A ball. He's just a pure ballplayer.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 If right now means this game, Berrios is perfect. . . . So he's wrong about that. Dammit, you just jinxed him! What's the matter with you?
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted May 24, 2017 Posted May 24, 2017 I don't know. I'm not convinced that Bert would have gotten the math correct. Bert always gets his California math correct.
