My favorite Bit was that after itstimetomeltdownandkickbabies got banned (or quit?) he came back as justanotherfan, us mods knew it instantly and basically told everyone else via PM. We let him do his bit for a few weeks about he was some lawyer from Maine, eventually of course he had another meltdown.

I remember BYTO fondly. My favorite filter word filter was for Luis Castillo. Some of the debates were classic and memes like "season over" after one out in the opener were always worth a laugh.

Luis Castillo's filter was brilliant.  Burl Ives was a favorite of mine as well.

 

But TROLPO?  Damn I loved me some TROLPO.  

 

The wiki site, short lived as it was, also contained some absolute brilliance.

yes, I remember being very confused at first when typing Terry Ryan and seeing it show up as Jerry Ryan....

 

So was Jerry Ryan a way around the filter? Now I understand why I saw Jerry Ryan referenced in threads early on. I was confused and took it as some type of inside joke/slam.

 

Anyways, I am very happy that Brock joined the founders. While I came here for the articles, I found the forums very enjoyable as well. There was a stretch where the forum was a little rough and I am so thankful for Glunn and the rest of the mods for bringing a level of civility. I came close to losing interest in the site. Now, I probably spend more time on the site seeing how my comments have been received and looking to engage in more discussion.

I think at one point there was even a top 10 porn stars thread. How much better would these forums be with that thread?! (with pictures to judge obviously)

Personal highlight was that I believe I brought the site the first player interview when I contacted Pat Neshek and he agreed.

 

I'll forever be grateful to a Braves fan who lived in the dorm across the hall who introduced me to the ESPN boards where I slowly, over time figured out the "regular" crowd. Think I joined in '02.

Okay ... so ... the other day I thought something was off with the site because the photo that showed up on the homepage of the original look of the site. This morning it was ... both a feeling of all is right and wrong (in a good way) seeing that BYTO logo pop up on my screen.

 

As for a badge or an asterisk by our names ... I want a badge of honor, courage and bravery for living to tell about it later.

I'm surprised you didn't wind up with a funny white canvas coat, you know, the one with the arms crossed and your own special handlers in that special place for special people.
