I can't believe I read 52 pages of this.  I could of read a book in that time and been better off for it. 

I could have not read a book in that time, staring at the blank four walls of my padded cell, and still been better off for it.

First time poster here.  This has been an interesting thread.

 

I have to confess, I lost interest in the baseball aspect of this about 900 messages ago, but we should all watch out for DaveW.  He has discovered the power that can take an unscrupulous man all the way to the top.

Interesting comment on MLB.com on return expectation on trading Dozier:

 

"The three-player return for Eaton surprised many in the industry, but the outfielder is one of the game's more underrated players because of his elite defense, and he remains under team control through 2021 for $38.4 million. Dozier, who posted a similar WAR to Eaton last season despite hitting 28 more homers than Eaton, is only under control for the next two seasons at $15 million, which means the Twins aren't expected to receive a package comparable to the one Chicago received for Eaton."

Anyways the update is this:
My source is perplexed this deal hasn't gotten done yet. It sounds like the Twins are really playing hardball and he/she is hearing chatter that there might be another team that the Twins may re-engage to drive up some of their leverage with the Dodgers. Still could happen at any moment, but the sticking point at this stage is still player 3 (and player 4 potentially)
