jud6312 Verified Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Did they just really quote Molitor as saying he wants to see what they've got in Logan Schafer? Nothing. The answer in what you have in Logan Schafer is nothing. He's a 4th OF for a independent league team. The fact that the manager thinks there might be something there makes me hope this losing streak carries on and forces him to resign. Mike Sixel, Platoon, Danchat and 3 others 6

Can't we see what we got in Walker, in Palka, in Granite.....even would take a look at Michael and Harrison, who are on the bubble of being keepers or totally cutloose - although I guess we can keep them in the system for still one more year. But Logan Schafer!?! Go and watch a Saints game, Paul, if you want to see that! And maybe next year you will be able to be a season ticket holder! spinowner, operation mindcrime, jud6312 and 1 other 4

Maybe he's trying to increase his chances of being considered for the GM job? After all, this is the franchise that said that it signed 32 year old, >1000 MLB innings pitched Kevin Correia because "our scouts really liked what they saw". jud6312 1

LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Using backup remote with no 'previous channel' button so I'm stuck with one channel or the other, presenting a real quandary: Do I help the Twins avoid a historical losing streak by not watching and jinxing the bullpen as they try to protect their tiny four run lead, or do I preserve the suspense of how much bad a Bridgewaterless Vikings team can pack into a sixteen game season by not watching them?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted September 2, 2016 Author Posted September 2, 2016 The trick to this is to have your doctor write you a note saying you are medically incapable of waiting in long lines. They give you a pass. You go up to the line and they write a time on the pass for whenever you would have arrived when you're in line... then you go do something else. How Bout if you are Mentally incapable? Bob Newhart would certainly be able to diagnose that from one session with me. LaBombo 1

LaBombo Verified Member Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) Ervin scatters 11 hits over 5 innings to limit BS to 2 earned runs for the win... if, by "scattered", you mean "strategically placed with surgical precision". Ahhh, well.. the dreaded Streak is over, Buxton survived a 3AM flat tire and completed a mini-triathlon to get the airport, and he's now on pace for 28 home runs in September. What am I leaving out? Oh, yeah. Shaun Hill didn't blow out his knee while standing on the Vikings sideline. So good night all around. Edited September 2, 2016 by LaBombo

But you unjinxed the Goophs with your post and they're up by one with 8 minutes to go! Just the kind of insurmountable lead you're looking for against a team the Wall Street Journal called an 'embarrassing weakling' or some such.
