Getting redirected

I have been seeing something similar - a reroute of a tab for Twins Daily to some site purporting to be Firefox wanting me to run an update executable. (The legitimate Firefox updater tells me I am up to date, of course.) It will occur sometimes even when I haven't clicked on anything or even moved the mouse cursor in a few minutes, while I'm reading or maybe called away for a while. It's always a TD page that gets it, which leads me to wonder if somehow TD has a virus/worm on its server that kicks in at random times. (My Norton program comes up clean when I run it on my machine.)

Yeah, I've been getting that. I've also been getting a lot of redirects on my desktop using Chrome. I switched back to Firefox and hasn't been an issue, so I'm thinking that's more a Chrome thing than a TD thing.

At work, this site pops up as an unsafe site.

And when I access it on my phone, weird stuff (like what was shown here) pops up if I am on for any decent amount of time.

Okay, this is weird. So some of you are getting redirects on both desktop and mobile?

I believe it happened to me once on mobile (weeks ago) but I've never seen anything happen of this kind happen on desktop. I'll check in with our ad person and try to figure out what's happening.

My redirects were happening only in Chrome and have stopped since going back to Foxfire. And it wasn't a complete redirect, but a popup and new tab opened saying my computer security had expired and I needed to renew (I forget what company it was, but it wasn't anything I'd ever used). I changed my google passwords but that didn't help, so I stopped using it and that did.

But I was also getting the phone ones, too. Only with TD. (I have an iPhone so that was while in Safari.)

yeah, it happens on my desktop every once in awhile too, but it happens with my phone quite often.

This happens like 20% of the time on mobile, it's really annoying and you guys really need to fix your freaking ad server, 3+ years now we get auto sound auto play video ads, ads that slow up your computer and now this crap.

I'm not trying to be a jerk, but it isn't rocket science guys, literally 99.999999% of the web can figure it out, you guys can to. We do our job in coming to the site, clicking ads, and giving you guys revenue, the least you can do is make sure these stupid ads and malware ads don't show up.

Ironically 20 min later when I refreshed on mobile it popped up and tried to get me to download some yelp app knock off.

This is the first thing it does while reading forums before redirecting to that other spam website...

this one. for about a week now. Only on your site, no others. I cleared my cache, powered down my phone twice, and it seems ok for now, but I did have a popup earlier I didn't recognize. Chrome. Android.

It would take only a couple of minutes for the webmaster to figure out which ads are doing it.  Disable one, turn them back on one by one until you find them.

When I visit this site in Chrome, the pages in the forums reload constantly.  Watch the refresh button and the page load icon on the tab. I have already brought up the viruses/malware/browser hijacking that happens here.

Your ads suck, mang, and I doubt you're making any money from them because everyone ignores ads these days. Find some ads that don't destroy your site's reputation. You realize that Google can see this sort of thing when it crawls and will lower your site ranking, right?

I turned on an ad blocker and shockingly the redirects have stopped, the page is no longer loading constantly and slowing things down, etc. etc.

I know you make (probably some) money on ads, and if you can treat this seriously I will be happy to disable the ad blocker on your site. Until then, the safety of the files on my computer > your cash.

While I've had some issues, the minute I've posted about them, they've been dealt with. I also am back to using Firefox or Safari and that has been way better than Chrome for me.

Probably because you ask civilly.

"If it pleases you, sir, I know I barely deserve to be in your presence, but if I avert my eyes while I address you, could I please ask you to not infect my computer with viruses?"

I visit porn sites that have less issues with ads then TwinsDaily. The fact that an easily fixable problem has been ignored for years now is beyond ridiculous. Especially when I have multiple times offered to FIX the problem for FREE
