I know, I know...It's not real cool to speculate but I actually can see a great core team of guys that could make us a serious contender in the very near future.  Kind of exciting to see.

It seems like Milone can't go much more than 5 IP in a game, fits better as a long reliever.  My guess he'll be dealt in August sometime.

I was going to say, D-San now appears to be in his 2.0 version, too. He no longer looks super anxious, like he's waiting to be cut or sent down any minute. He's also developed some torque with his body. He turns his belt buckle to lead the swing, so he's added much better pop when he connects. Fun to watch him rip liners to the outfield.

 

Thank you for saying something positive about Danny Santana. Two add-on comments.

 

1. In all seriousness, he looks good. Sat by third base on Saturday; he played third base. He moves well going to the ball and made some good throws. He had some good, solid swings.

 

2. Twelve months or so ago, and forever before that, most people wanted Nunez to be DFA'd. Management sees something in Santana; he's young and cheap. Give it a little time.

Very encouraging start for Berrios. Yes, he got hit hard in the 1st inning but after that gave up 1 hit in his final 5 innings plus no runs. I also like that he showed better control with 0 walks in his 6 innings of work.
