twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Can't wait for Bert to (try to) say Chargois a bunch...Charge-oys.
rghrbek Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Have the Twins heated up the Target Field gun in the last few weeks? Ryan Pressly has hit 98 several times and Ervin Santana hit 96 a few times last night. Pressley has hit 98? I think this needs more attention. This is a large step forward for Twinskind

bluechipper Provisional Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Pressley has hit 98? I think this needs more attention. This is a large step forward for TwinskindYeah it's been impressive. He's shown a slider/cutter at 91 recently too.
HitInAPinch Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 May, too. And Gibson activated. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/06/phil-hughes-trevor-may-dl-twins.html "While the 29-year-old Hughes will technically be placed on the DL due to the knee issue" ........... "Regression from May, too, has plagued the Twins.".........
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Awesome. Let's hope the manager uses him, and he isn't Polancoed.Polancoed... nice. Also applicable: MeyeredKeplered Rogered
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 So May and Hughes to the DL, Gibson to the rotation and Chargois called up? Dean is still in the rotation, and the bullpen is still without a long guy. But good to see Chargois, and hopefully May comes back strong as a starter.

Rosterman Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Well, we still have the deadwood of Jepsen in our rebuilt bullpen. Wonder what will happen to him. And Pressly is the only guy available for options. Let's see Gibson shine. Dean get back to an adequate swing. And Duffey curveball batters to death. I would love to see May go on a rehab to the minors and be put back into a rotation tryout, even if it means an extended stay.Of course, who knows how long he will be on the DL. Can only hope that Hughes gets a comfortable DL rest in what is proving to be a lost season (shades of Nolasco). The Twins will need to make some 40-man changes, again, soon!
70charger Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Polancoed... nice. Also applicable:MeyeredKepleredRogered Let's maybe not make "Rogered" one of them.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 And Pressly is the only guy available for options. Not quite. In addition to Pressly and now Chargois, Boshers and Rogers can also be optioned.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 The Twins will need to make some 40-man changes, again, soon! Not really. They'll have to drop someone whenever Perkins comes back, but it could easily be Mastoianni. But they don't have many other guys in need of a 40-man spot. Logan Schafer and a bunch of pitchers, most of whom we've cut before (Albers, Darnell, Milone, O'Rourke, Wheeler, plus Sean Burnett). I guess some guys, like Arcia, could become 40-man casualties because they are out of options and we need the 25-man roster spot. But we're not quite at that point yet.
Otto von Ballpark Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 I will say, kudos to the Twins for calling up Chargois instead of Sean Burnett! Burnett does have an opt out coming up on June 15th. I guess I wouldn't be opposed to cutting Jepsen and adding Burnett on that date. Although Burnett's Rochester stats aren't all that impressive, I suppose there could be a better use of the spot (and the $1 mil we'd owe him if we called him up). I probably wouldn't want to take innings away from relievers who might have a future here. Wheeler might deserve a look. Or maybe an extra bench player?

Thrylos Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Or Sid Hartman.... Does he still talk?
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 So if he's only up for 15 days, would you take the over or under on 9.5 saves? Yes. /obligatory / / this is a game thread, right?
Guest Guests Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Does Hildenberger go to Rochester? Seems like he's shown he can handle AA and he's already 25.
ashbury Verified Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Can't wait for Bert to (try to) say Chargois a bunch...Sha Gwa. Easy peasy. Though, it helps to be a little drunk when saying it; more slurring, less pronunciating, just like any French word.

Danchat Old-Timey Member Posted June 10, 2016 Posted June 10, 2016 Is Chargois the first bullpen prospect to come up since... since... uh... I can't remember the last time a legit prospect came up as a bullpen option. Can someone help me remember?
