David HK Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 This Gausman kid, holy moley, he's good. He is painting down low tonight. Unless Parise comes off the bench and scores a couple goals, we're already toast.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I went to the course late today, hoping to get a quick nine in before the game started. When I got there, the starter told me to hustle over to the first tee, there was a single just about to tee off, and I could join him. He looked perturbed to see me wander up, thinking I'd just slow him down. Well, I can play a little, and I offered to play him a match for 10 bucks a hole. He thought it'd be easy money, and quickly took the bet. Turns out I was a bit too smart for my own good...he could play a bit too. We traded a couple holes, and got to the ninth tee all square. I knocked my tee shot down the middle, not as far as him, but very playable. He put his tee shot into the right rough, with a tall tree right in his way. He really had no choice but to knock it out into the fairway, and play from there. He was just about to do that, when I wandered up and looked down my nose at him. "Playing safe, junior?? Well, I s'pose that's the smart play. Gotta say, though, when I was your age I'd have knocked it right over that tree." He looked at me, pulled out another club, and took aim at the green. Hit a great shot, too, but it hit the top of the tree, and doinked directly right, out of bounds. Match over. I looked at him and said,'"Of course, when I was your age, that tree was three feet tall."
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 joe Mauer and Fernando Abad are the only two players who haven't been disasters. Literally the only two.Park. Nunez. Nolasco. I'm probably missing some. Not disasters.
Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 I know it probably wouldn't have mattered, but after this series, the twins will have played 14 games against the Orioles, white sox and nationals. Almost half their games. Although we haven't done all that well against bad teams, either.

Aggies7 Old-Timey Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Park. Nunez. Nolasco. I'm probably missing some. Not disasters. True, I might put them into the half-disaster category.Edit: I only lumped Nunez in there because he's had some big errors on the base paths and in the field.

Platoon Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Geez, I picked a heck of a time to join the game thread. ick. I was kind of hoping ups would ask what a castrati was, so I wouldn't have to.
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted May 11, 2016 Posted May 11, 2016 Berrios has had 3 starts. While the final lines haven't been the best, he's had stretches where he looks in control, and clearly can already miss more bats than any other pitcher in our rotation. This kid is going to be a star, where did this demand for instant gratification come from? I used to think we had smarter baseball fans than this.
