The thing is many of these ballgames have been more torturous than trying to watch the entire Ring cycle in one day would be.

I remember Nietzche saying something like "I can't stand Wagner, but I can't listen to anything else any more"

I didn't realize you were a millennial! Welcome aboard! You're joining some elite company with me, Dinger, always, and Hrb. Slowly but surely we'll decrease the average age here.

As far as advice, keep your sense of humor with the bad times. It's just a game, and entertainment for us at the end of the day.

When the good times do eventually come back around, hopefully we'll all appreciate them more after watching the last 5 losing years!

After the way this season has gone for the Twins, there is no such thing as a "young" Twins fan.

I was fake-singing that on the bus this morning.  In no time I had a whole row to myself.

That would be some impressive falsetto!

Ugh ... Sorry ... but listening to the ring cycle all in one day is far more torturous than anything the Twins have done so far this season.

But get back to me at the end of the season and I'll reevaluate.

You're absolutely right; I no longer qualify as a fan.

Counter-tenor, actually.

Um, no ... The Queen of the Night aria is well and far above the range of a counter-tenor.

That's a boy SOPRANO not a counter-tenor. Some counter-tenor roles are sung by altos, as that is about the range.

And back long ago, perhaps a castrati would have sung that role.

Not a fan of the batting order, I just don't get it at all.

If I had to guess, it's all about veterans being trusted, and not putting pressure on Sano and Park, which, imo, is silly at this point.

Concur, except it's good to see the Twins finally experiment with Mauer at the top of the order. I've advocated this for all these years that the Twins have been devoid of prototype leadoff hitter-types.

Last Sunday at church, I was standing in the foyer talking to the pastor.  There's a big plaque on the wall with the names of miltary congretation members who have died in one war or the other over the years.

As we were standing there talking, a young boy of 6 or 7 walked up and asked the pastor what the plaque was all about.

"Well, son, that's a memorial to all the members of the congregation that have died in the service."

We all stood there for a minute or two, quietly looking at the list of names.

Finally the boy looked up at the pastor and asked quietly, "Which service?  The 9 or the 10:30?"

Wagner can be quite moving when performed by the right company as many kids from the 70's know   This could also make for an interesting dance party the next time the Twins win.
