big dog Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Twins are hitting against Cy Young, just like most nights lately. I just want to feel like they have a chance to win, most nights, but that feeling is sliding away from me.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 The excitement on TD is palpable. It's like a playoff game. Sarcasm run amok.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Can we put duck tape over Dick and Jack's mouths. Might make announcing hard but I swear they are jinxes.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I'm watching the Jay's broadcast. It seems nearly all television commentators are fairly boring. It seems that is a qualification.
Shane Wahl Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 What else is there? Escobar? With the disappointments/failures of Santana, Vargas, and Arcia, there aren't many left-handed bats for the Twins. Oswaldo Arcia and Jorge Polanco are the obvious choices to be on this roster now. One could even make the case for Kepler (if they are really going to be this dense about Arcia)

Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Hey, all. The No Fun League doesn't start until Sunday. Can we have fun until then?
GCTF Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 27 in a row retired going back to yesterday. Perfect game!
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Somnambulant bats are fun.
zchrz Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I'm watching the Jay's broadcast. It seems nearly all television commentators are fairly boring. It seems that is a qualification. Doc Ellis or Spaceman Lee paired with Joe Rogan, make it happen!
Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Was waiting for that to happen.....oh well.
zchrz Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Biggest complaint with Phil Hughes this year, the F*&K is with all the 2 seamers. He was good up in the zone getting flyouts and strikeouts why the sudden need for ground balls.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Hey, all. The No Fun League doesn't start until Sunday. Can we have fun until then? Can't. Daddy took my T-Bird away.

jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 At this rate, one home run every other inning off Hughes might be the best we can hope for. Them's some majorly bangin' bats.
zchrz Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Who is Joe Rogan? Stand up comedian/ UFC color guy
big dog Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 The excitement on TD is palpable. It's like a playoff game. Sarcasm run amok.I was trying for plaintive despondency, but I can see how you got sarcasm out of that.
AlwaysinModeration Verified Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 Sano is going deep tonight.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 4, 2015 Posted August 4, 2015 I was trying for plaintive despondency, but I can see how you got sarcasm out of that.Plaintive despondency. That is wistfully depressing, I think.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 One swing of the bat and moods lift.
Copperfield Verified Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Nice write up. Let me fix one line for you: I mean, how many holidays do they get up there, eh?St Paul transplant from Toronto (don't ask) here. Would just like to point out that Toronto is actually south of Minne. I keep reading this stuff about Toronto being "up there" and it's annoying me.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Ummmm.....runs?.........please?

twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Did you eat Chili or are you expecting the Twins to score here. Chief? Yes

Copperfield Verified Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 Sorry I worded that wrong I guess. I'm originally from St Paul and now in Toronto. It's one hell of a city so the pot shots are kind of silly. Minne is tiny in comparison to Toronto. I'm forever a Twins fan however.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 27 in a row retired going back to yesterday. Perfect game!In bowling, that's called an "Andy Veripapa." 12 strikes in a row, just not in the same game.
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted August 5, 2015 Posted August 5, 2015 I'm really starting to get tired of watching Rosraio striking out so much, especially the caught looking variety. He shouldn't really be batting in any top of the order or middle sequences either at least not this year.As much as I don't like Suzuki's bat he would not have taken a called third strike in that spot. Rosario has now walked 10 times in 71 games. Not ... so ... good.

Kurt Suzuki batting 9th is too high in the order
