Aaron Sabato, the Twins’ first-round pick from the 2020 MLB draft, is headed to the big leagues, sources told the Minnesota Star Tribune.

Congratulations to him. If anyone in St. Paul earned a look it was him. I don't expect much, but stranger things have happened than having a late-blooming first round pick.

Good for him. He's worked hard and now he gets to relish being a major league ballplayer. I would give him Lewis' PAs the rest of the week.

Nope, I guess they don’t need a third catcher for the last six games of the season.

Their handling of Alex Jackson makes no sense. If they weren't keeping him around to be the #2 catcher in 2027, then WTF was the reason for it?

No idea. But we essentially played with a 25 man roster the entire 2nd half when they were trying to compete for a playoff spot.

Whenever they talked about Jackson it sounded like they were basically saying he was there for the vibes. Like he tried hard, did all the pregame stuff for all positions, and was easy to be around. So yeah, vibes.

Not something I would prioritize, but if you are a 3rd catcher with a strong arm, that's what you should do.

Hopefully next season's roster building is stronger.

Everyone already knows, but they got him largely due to "character" and "veteran presence".  This team still needs that, but now they want to give a 27 year old his first shot at meaningless September baseball at the major league level.

I agree, but do you think vibes is justification for holding a roster spot for months of a season? I don't.

The Twins only have Caratini for catching next year if they lose Jackson. I guess they are figuring on free agency. I don't think the minor leagues catchers will be ready till at least late next year.
