My question for you @Cory Engelhardtis how do you deal with the time difference? I assume you have a Midwest/MN connection at some point in your life. Maybe still have family here in central time zone? A 17 hour difference has to be wild.

I'm actually really new to New Zealand. Moved here in April. Basically all family is still in the states. I always think of it has 7 hours ahead, but yesterday. That way calls in for us in the morning are in the afternoon in the states. Not too bad that way, and technology is WAY better for that than it probably was even 10 years ago.

Like right now it's about 2:30pm and my kids are still in school. I like baseball games during the day, or even in the early morning.

Actually, speaking of gamy, the first package of NZ lamb that I can recall buying in the US, was obtained at Costco and it was pretty gamy.  Phew.  The stuff they served in NZ was much more palatable.

Lots of reasons. Being by nature more, by the ocean more. I've always felt better when by water. A more stable government it seems (even though locals here don't love their government either.) I don't at all hate picking up our kids from school in the afternoon and not worrying throughout the day if something would happen. But really in the end, more it was the thought that we only live once, and we have a chance for an adventure, so let's go for it. 

I miss family. I miss friends. I miss being at baseball games. But I don't regret the move.

For a brief period of time I had a client in Hawaii. He canceled the service because we weren’t really available when he was and that was a 5 hour difference in time. Totally fair for them to cancel because I’m not answering their call at 9 PM CT if something went wrong. A 17 hour difference from us to NZ is a whole new world

Course, NZ does have their own powerball. It seems quaint compared to US powerball numbers. I think the highest it ever got to here was 40 million, which is like 23 million US. But for a country that only has about 5 million people total, it's fun still to dream :)
