I went to spring training in FT Myers...nice...but those games don't mean much and it is a tryout for cuts...

Spring Training for me is the back fields.  I could give two hoots about paying some fraction of major league prices to see the official game where the players I care about sit down after 3 innings and a bunch of 30-year old non-roster invites take over.  But the back fields? Shuttling between 2 or even 3 games is heaven.

I fully agree...

I live in SD and am about 4 miles from TJ...long drive from SAC....TJ is not the nicest place....the crime is pretty rampant ...you can get good Tequila in SAC bars if that is your preference

Thanks; I have only been there once as a 12 year old boy when my Father wanted to go to Mexico and get some Tequila, while on vacation.

We went to part of the town that looked like some thing you see in Westerns and we went into a bar. There was one gent sitting at the end of the bar and the bar tender spoke no English.  Dad let the bar tender know he wanted Tequila, and the bar tender came back with what looked like a gallon.  Dad said no, no a small bottle.

The gent at the end of the bar soke English and said to get a small bottle,  go down the street to the liquor store and told us how to get there.  Things were a lot different down there back then.

I have a neighbor in my home town  sixty miles West of the Twin Cities, that is a Mezcal/Tequila semi-fanatic, or was till his wife got a bit unsettled; I have had a lot of different varieties in the past 5 years.

Bell has on occasion shown a lot more speed than he usually does. I wonder if he only put the pedal down if he knows he can make it.

That became my standard during my heavy drinking years of the eightie and nineties.  Cops can smell whiskey on your breath but not tequila.

10 years as a LEO…….all alcohol is usually detectable by smell especially K9 officers, but it is absolutely no indication of intoxication level.

Anyone else hate how they always have to call Shelton “shelty”?

Maybe he prefers Shelts instead. Or Sheltziez
