1973 turned 18 …. legal in Iowa at the time! Drank Singapore Slings….. until I discovered adult drinking

My favorites growing up were the Sioux City Sarsaparillas.  They were bottled in the dark bottles, so you looked cool like you were drinking an actual beer.

Drank a couple in 1979 in some meat market bar in Sioux City.

I grew up only 100 miles east of Sioux City and only went there for CYO basketball games. Heelan beat us like drums.

Didn’t realize Sioux City was a destination city 😛

Hard to get excited for this club lately. Been following here on TD, Gleeman/Geek, Skor North but haven’t watched a game since the Field of Dreams. Hope they win!

Interesting note: they seem to be pushing the sale of the Twins Field of Dreams t-shirts. I think they must have a surplus due to the score.

Still not a destination city.  North Sioux City was when Gateway was there building computers.  The only thing you wait for in Sioux City when you're on I-29 is when you can get away from the smell of the meat processing plants.  Stopped at Hard Rock Casino there one night.  Didn't really like the smoking when you've been used to no smoking establishments for so long.  The Sioux City Sarsaparillas were just distributed in the area where I grew up.  They were a nice treat as we could only get them in a couple places in the area.

College in Vermillion.  Went to Sioux City almost every Thursday afternoon due to to the more reasonable liquor store age requirement.

I hope Audra's remarks aren't a foreshadowing of what is going to happen this weekend.  The comment from Buck about hopefully a couple of days of treatment and he will be good to go.  They need to get a more definitive plan than that.

They need to man up and tell Buxton he is done for this year.

On a business trip to Singapore my host/guide to me to the bar at Raffles Hotel where supposedly the drink got started.  Overly sweet as I recall but I can say I experienced it.
