When Jenkins comes up, it can't be a platoon, put him in the lineup and let him go.

Delaying him until divisional games that 'matter' help ensure that those games won't matter if we go 0-3 against Oakland. :(

Agreed. You can't sit Culpeper and you can't sit Jenkins, beyond normal rest.

If they haven't announced a move by now, one won't be happening.  And since they are on the west coast, I doubt they will fly anyone out there for two games unless there is an injury.  My guess there will be no moves until next Tuesday.  They are basically waving the white flag on the season even though they won't admit it.

My wife and I have mutually agreed to sit out the next two games. The baseball gods have told me I can't watch 8:40 p.m. games and rest easy on a weeknight. Especially with this team. It's for the best.

Good luck everyone! What more can be said? Win some baseball games!

Unfortunately for you, the team has seven more west coast games next month. SF and the Angels....both teams with poor records.

i agree with ya totally , i am just sick and tired of the way this team operates and was hoping a Miracle might happen   I Recommend people watch Skor North baseball show today - they are just as pissed off as alot of us fans ,   Twins stubbornness is gonna cost them big unless things change

Theo Tollefson:

The Twins have promoted their number one pick Vahn Lackey from Low-A Fort Myers to High-A Cedar Rapids.

I saw Theo Tollefson, promoted and number one pick and I got my hopes up initially. Alas, no Jenkins yet. Good for Lackey though. He has looked good, but not great in his time in Fort Myers so hopefully he can perform at a higher level in Cedar Rapids.

He is a college guy so he could move through the minors quickly. Unless he is a complete bust, he should be up well before 2030. I think the best case scenario for him would be early 2028.

I almost didn't even look when the game is today or get involved. The loses suck and even if we can get a sweep in this series, how far does that really get us. I don't like being negative with the team, we just don't have the juice to make a go for a winning run. I'll still check in a little, but I'm going to decompress on the Twins a little bit.

"mutually agreed" similarly to Falvey leaving the Twins earlier this year?

haha! Yes, I made the initial suggestion that I needed a couple nights off and would come back refreshed for the weekend series (or perhaps Wednesday's game if we have a 2 game winning streak going). She's a huge Twins fan but, well, let's just say she's not quite as emotionally invested as I am. She's someone who could fall asleep with the game on and I just can't hang that way.

Alex Jackson will be firmly entrenched as the starter, so there won't be a spot for him, probably until 2030 or 31.

Is that a reference to what happened earlier today? Astros and GM Dana Brown mutually agree to part ways

I guess GMs don't get fired anymore, they just get pressured into quitting?

It wasn’t but wow. I guess he got tired of the owner meddling with trades lol

Or they force the issue so they can get paid, since Crane wanted to do the job.

Well,,,that Astros owner did make a great decision of taking a SS off of the Twins hands last year...something the Twins are still paying for...regardless, good riddance...anybody know how much the Twins are still paying for that salary dump each year?

I have a hunch that the Twins will win today and take 2 out of 3 from Oakland. Even though I have been pessimistic about Buxton, I predict that he will get a home run over the next 3 days. Regardless, my thoughts on his future and his ability of to sustain durability as a ballplayer is questionable (unfortunately). If there is not a lockdown next year, I will be in SAC to watch the series there. I attended last year and had an amazing time watching a game in a small-time ballpark. I actually sat next to the fenceless side of the bullpen and spoke to a couple of the pitchers. As I have noted in the past, I was at two games this weekend. When the crowd becomes active at Petco, it is boisterous group that can be imposing to a pitcher as well as young players. The Twins looked visibly tired with no idea that they were in a playoff hunt. I do believe that Buxton may be hurt due to the way he was walking and running on the field Sunday.

Twins are on the hook for $11 million per year until 2028. Well worth it now… Also…

No Jacob Lopez in the series for the A's which is good news for the Twins. Nick Kurtz is also out for the season so he won't factor in. The Twins faced today's starter Jeffery Springs in the series in Minnesota on July 26. He made it through just 1 1/3 innings allowing 4 runs. (Twins won that game 11-8). Springs has not gone 6 innings since May 22, but his start for the Twins was his shortest in that stretch. This is his second start back from a hip injury. Hopefully the Twins can rough him up and take game one today en route to a sweep.
