I mean IMO there’s definitely reasonable hope that he can become good. But the command challenges are real…been there pretty much all year.

Then things escalated quickly. 😁 Patzky 1

But the command challenges are real…been there pretty much all year. That's the final step from being a pitcher vs a thrower. His stuff is good enough for AAA and many ML lineups because he can get batters to chase that stuff. As stated earlier tonight, when the Phillies spit on all those chase pitches, he didn't have the command to get back in the zone. I think he will do it. He will have to trust his stuff rather than try playing off the junk. HarmonK03 and Patzky 2
h2oface Old-Timey Member Posted August 16 Posted August 16 What is Shelton doing, today. This is a team that supposedly wants to compete for a wild card. If he was going to use his best in pen today, anyway, as it appears he was, you have to pull Prielipp after the third walk, with a run in on a walk, and Bohm coming up with the bases loaded and having already doubled twice today against him. Now 2-0, in the 5th already, still two outs for the last 4 batters. A manager HAS TO PULL THE his pitcher. Especially in this part of the season. You have to. You only need 1 out to save the game. But no. Let him give up 6 more runs and then put your high leverage guys in trailing 8-0 for the innings, the work? Shelton is sleeping at the wheel. RpR, Hunter4848, mrmpls and 1 other 1 3
