Did you know him in California when he was growing up.  Some of the Lewis hate is getting over the top on here.  The Twins signaled that he was one of their top priorities when he was one of the first players Shelton actually went to visit and not just called.  I am not sure everything has been in alignment behind the scenes and no one knows.  Yes he needs to perform to be up here, but I am not sure the Twins have always put him in a position to succeed.

So a few things to consider when Sands comes back. Who do you send down Adams, Lawrence, Paredes? Your likely gonna need Paredes for a spot start or bullpen game with Adams.

I had a buddy in high school that started going bald at 16. Started shaving his head at 19 years old. Can’t imagine a worse outcome. My widow’s peeks are creeping up on me but still a full head of hair so far. Fingers crossed it lasts for another 20+ years.

That signals the importance of Royce to the team, so did the actions of the team back it up.  It was not Lewis asking for a visit.

For not being a big stikeout pitcher Banda has been on a nice stretch. Hasn't given up a ER since May 8th. 10 scoreless appearances in a row. Needed help tonight though.

Clemens should play firstbase , hes proven to be good defensively  , since he has been playing different positions lately , did the lack of playing time cause his defensive mental laspe on the scoop  ?

I still think they sent him down with the intention on trying to work with him and get him back to being the player they expect him to be when they drafted him.  The blowup about him refusing to play 2nd base was a bit overblown, at the time and still to this day.  He made an honest assessment to the media that he wasn't sure that he was capable of playing 2nd base.  He only made one appearance at 2nd in the minors so that would help defend him.  Royce's problem the entire time has been his statements to the media.  He has fallen out of stardom status, but the raw talent is still there if he can put it together.  The idea of having him try first base is to both help him get back up here ASAP and to help the team in a position that they need to stabilize.

They asked him to pause working with his hitting coach, he felt he was getting conflicting direction from the team on his swing but went with what the team wanted.  How did that work out.  That is my point what has the team done to help him be successful, 

I do think he needs to stop talking so much as well but again when players just give cliches we rip them for that as well.  That is why I think he should stop talking.  I still think there is talent there and so did the Twins obviously,  I am not sure giving up on him a third of the way thru the season is the right course of action.
