Re Gray...

The idea of Gray is what we don't like. A journeyman taking a roster spot from someone like Culpepper or Royce.

But the reality is, he's worth a spot right now and has been one of the more productive hitters the Twins have. Sure, that might be an indictment on some other guys on the team, but it doesn't necessarily change the fact that Gray has been more than serviceable this season and he's earned his keep.

At 84 pitches, do we roll the dice, jeopardize the QS, and send him out again for the 7th?

If I had to guess, the answer would be no.  They have been treating him with kid gloves since they brought him up.  He did a good job with the QS.  Time to turn it over to our reinvigorated bullpen.

Or do we try out our new Pirate arm (did he come with a parrot 🦜)

Does he throw with the arm with the hook or does the glove go on that one?

Let's not the grand slam give you rose colored glasses.  He has 6 hits in the last 14 games, I am not sure that earns a roster spot or makes him one of our most productive hitters.  Keeping him as the backup SS, fine, but let's not act like he's worthy of a spot over Culpepper.

The man is single-handedly forcing us all to eat our pre-season words, and honestly, they taste delicious.

Why isn't Morris our closer right now? Considering what we have.

I'm don't think the Twins should have a set closer at this point of time, but if I had to choose anyone I would probably go with Yoendrys Gomez. They tried Morris at closer for a couple of games and he struggled. I think the upside is definitely there, but he needs to polish a few things.

Also considering Shelton axed the Lee at SS situation. Where would they put Royce

At first.  There was a report earlier today that Lewis is starting to put in some work at first base.  It seems like they wanted to regain his confidence at the plate first, then introduce a new position for him to try out.  It does sound like they worked on his mechanics at the plate in St Paul as well.

He’s quickly ascended to the highest leverage role. May not be a save situation if he doesn’t get out of this jam.

Shelton let Prielipp stay in too long... but seems like folks only get mad at the manager for pulling the starter too early, not too late.

Thanks for jinxing it! Also, Yoendrys has been really good so far, and they haven't needed to have a full-time closer.

An OPS of .499 in May when he started half the games and his defense has been barely average.  I am not sure words need to be eaten.
