Just outside the Top 100 in several.

What’s to Like
"Intriguing" is the first word that comes to mind when I see Hill’s name and profile. Being 6-5 and lanky, left-handed, and hitting 97 mph with his fastball is just the start.  Wait, what?

Let's try that again. Dasan Hill is a 20-year-old left-hander who stands 6-5, has room to gain strength yet, and has already reached triple digits with his fastball. He also throws a curveball, change-up, and slider, all of which grade out as above average. Having four above-average pitches is a great profile as a starting pitcher prospect.

Drafted in Competitive Balance Round B in the 2024 draft, Hill was signed for an over-slot deal of $2 million out of Grapevine High School in Texas, Hill was the only pitcher taken in the Twins' first eight picks of the 2024 draft.

In 2025, he pitched with both Low-A Fort Myers and High-A Cedar Rapids. Across 19 starts and 62 innings, he had 83 strikeouts with a 3.19 ERA and 1.35 WHIP. At 20 years old, Hill is listed at 165 pounds, so one would think he could still fill out his frame some, which could help him as he continues to develop. Despite the lack of innings, Hill was named by Twins Daily as the Twins Minor League Starting Pitcher of the Year in 2025.

What’s Left to Work On
Like many young pitchers, Hill will need to reign in his command, as he had a 5.8 BB/9 rate this past season. Given his pitch mix, he projects to improve on those numbers, but it is something to keep an eye on and will be a part of taking a step forward.

Another thing will be to stay healthy and continue working toward a starter’s workload, so pitching over 100 innings this year, would be a great accomplishment in doing this.

What’s Next:
Hill will be pitching his second professional season in 2026, so getting more innings and facing more hitters will be key in the next step of his development.

He will likely start the year with High-A Cedar Rapids and pitch most of the year there, and as long as things go as planned, he may get his first taste of Double-A toward the end of the season, much like he did this past season, getting three starts at High-A after spending most of the year with Low-A Fort Myers.

With plenty of upside, keep an eye on Hill and how he continues to grow and round out his approach in his second full season in the Twins organization.

He is a very exciting prospect.  Hopefully that doesn't create the injury jinx that all the Twins top prospects seem to acquire!  With his stuff, I'm not sure why we don't see him earlier in AA this year.

There's a ton to like here. I might have had him a little lower; I'm usually a little more skeptical of the very young A-ball pitching prospects until they get up to AA, but boy the upside here is impressive.

After so many years of not having a LH starter (or one worth a damn), it's pretty fun to have some high level LHP prospects pushing their way up. Would love to have a LH starter that can throw real gas in the rotation, and Hill might be that guy sooner rather than later if he keeps developing like this.

Should be an interesting year for him. Hope he stays healthy.

Dasan Hill has been on my radar ever since we drafted him.  He's starting to show what the Twins had "projected" him to be able to do, namely, hit the high 90's or better with his fastball and tighten up his breaking pitches.

With all pitchers it comes down to command.  I'll really be "thirsting" for weekly updates on how he is progressing.  If things go like I think they'll go, he could be a fast mover through the Twins system this spring/summer.  The absolute ceiling would be to see him make it to St. Paul in August.  That may be a stretch if they limit his innings later in the season.

For not having a LH SP in the rotation in what seems like FOREVER...The Twins in 2 years could see Connor Prielipp and Dasan Hill as big pieces.  Without any 2026 or beyond draft choices factored in, it's possible the rotation could be:  Zebby, Abel, Bradley, Prielipp and Hill...and not necessarily in that order.

And Rojas.  He is a lefty starting pitching prospect that throws gas and is almost ready for a shot.

Having 3 Frank Viola's in the rotation will be nice to see.

Add Kendry Rojas into the mix and there's a lot to be (cautiously) optimistic about!

I don't know if there is an easy place to get this information without slowly going though stats for a million players, but I would be curious who his comps (minor league comps) would be and what became of them.  He seems a little unicornish at this point.

How about Stephen Gonsalves?

In 2015 he split between A and A+.
13 - 3 with 134.1 IP.

ERA of 2.01

SO of 132

BB of 53

WHIP of 1.102

I know nobody wants this comp. I agree with jmlease1 that it is good to be skeptical of A ball stats. Too easy just to overpower young hitters.

I've only seen hilights of him so far. Most of what I think I know comes from various media sources. But to have 4 above average pitches at 19yo...his age last season...have that many K's, and end the season at A+ is damn impressive.

**Note: I believe hisnlistes weight is when drafted, I believe he's up around 175-180lbs now.

You can work on control, and you can teach sequencing. But you can't teach lightening in an arm. The sky might be the limit if he stays healthy and harnesses his command.

I have a soft spot for LH arms. And it's exciting to have Prielipp, Rojas, and Hill in the system. And I'm still holding out hope Carpenter takes a step forward this season. Not all will reach their ceiling. It's possible one ends up as a high leverage arm in the bullpen. But it's been a while since the organization had a collection of LH arms like this to work with, root for, and dream on.

Whats taking him so long to develop?😂 seriously tho, he could be in Wichita by august if he consistently hits the strike zone.
