Is There Any World Where Miguel Sano Is an Option at First Base for the 2026 Twins?

Given the hypothetical nature of this post, I am going to be more Santa than Grinch.

There is a world, but it has its rules.

• Minor league contract
• Weight restrictions
• A well mapped out plan for improvement of his hitting.  (Spoiler: Grinch here, "Like the Twins have shown to be the hitting coaches of the Universe").  Despite what the Grinch is saying maybe new staff can do for hitters what they have been doing with the pitching...coax the talent to the surface and provide opportunities to succeed.  So far, the Twin's hitting pipeline has struck out.
• Rewards for meeting certain levels of performance INCLUDING weight goals.
• Be willing to spend countless, (ok in the analytics world we live in someone will watch the tape and count.  For proper context someone watched all the episodes of Schitt's Creek to find out that Alexa said "Eew David" only 4 times.  See what anal-ytics we have become as a society.  Oh, wait back to my thought) hours of repetitive work as first base and hitting.
• There is talent buried in the massive body. 5 Gold ⭐s for the coach or coaches who can release it.

That said, it ain't happening because as Yogi once said, "it ain't over until the fat body swings"

You sign Sano and he is likely the best (only!) 1B on the roster.

To be clear, this is the problem at the position, not the solution...

Then again, he might be the best RF if he signed.  And DH...  (again, the problem not a solution)

If he wants a minor league deal I would not be opposed to it, but I doubt he ever plays a major league game again.
