  1. As a Twins fan now in San Diego, I encourage you all to cheer for the Padres. Fun team, and yes, includes Luis Arraez. Also, since my daughter is now in Seattle, we're hoping for a Padres-Mariners WS.
  2. The biggest crime is Santana not getting past the first round in HOF voting. Conventional standards show 3 Cy Youngs and you are in the HOF. As in this article, Santana should have had 3, but even with 2 Cy Youngs, he should have string consideration, certainly getting more than 5% of voters his first year.
  3. What's WWCO (mentioned twice)? Is that similar to WCCO 830 AM?
  4. None of this really gives any info why Ks are down beyond roster changes. Buxton and Castro “tweaked” their approach. What does that mean? I am not sure Bucks changes are meaningful, he’s just streaky. 2 whiffs again last night. Larnach is still getting more experience. Beyond that, I don’t understand what they are doing differently.
  5. Watching Molina behind the plate was always a joy. You knew he was there and he always seemed totally in command of the game. The fact that he played his whole 18 year career as catcher is amazing, especially in light of Mauer's injuries. To me, Posey is best known for post-season victories. Nothing wrong with that, it's the point of the game. However, I am not sure the same day-to-day. No one doubts Mauer's greatness and he belongs in the HOF, first ballot would be great. But if I was picking a catcher for my team, I'd probably say: Molina, Mauer, Posey.
  6. This is great, though maybe needs a cameo from Reusse. It will be great to have HOF Joe.
  7. Okay, I had to try to come up with the names in the VP Debate without looking and could not do it- maybe fortunately I had forgot about both of them.
  8. While I agree this is a nice long-term core-4, as a Twins fan in San Diego, I have been watching up close what the Padres are doing with long-term commitments, and their core-6 is amazing: Machado, Bogarts, Tatis Jr., Cronenworth, Musgrove, and Darvish. All locked up for 5-10 years. Also a good chance Soto stays long-term. San Diego and Twin Cities are similar size markets and owners have similar financial capacity (I think Pohlads are worth more than Padres owner). So, while the Twins may have enough to win a weak AL Central, the Padres are building for multiple World Series. Of course, Twins vs Padres in WS is my dream. We'll see.
  9. All sounds good. Bottom line is they need to pay what it takes to get/keep him. They can afford it if they want. Don't lump in San Diego with Southern CA major markets. San Diego is actually a smaller market than the Twin Cities and quite separate than LA. However, the owner wants to spend money- whatever it takes to win. They can afford Machado, Tatis, and maybe Soto, plus Musgrave, Darvish, etc. The Twins and Pohlads could do this if they want and be heroes- they just don't want to that much.
  10. I am pretty sure this is meant as sarcasm/humor, but it hits way too close to home. My biggest fear for 2022 is the Twins would bring Colome. He really was the second coming of RD and I still have PTSD from those games in the mid-80s.
  11. This is great. I saw the headline and thought, "They are joking, right?" Thankfully you are joking, but took a minute to know for sure. Well done. Now, more analytics...
