This Will Not Go On Much Longer
Brett replied to Matthew Trueblood's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Thanks Matthew. Well written and on the money. We don’t want to give up on him, but this game can be cruel sometimes. -

Minnesota Twins Prospect Retrospective: Connor Prielipp
Brett replied to Nate Palmer's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
We can’t possibly be that lucky, but I would absolutely love that. -
This is always a fun time of year when most fans still have hope and stats usually don’t mean much (but we fixate on them anyway). Today’s stat du jour is OPS. Why, do you ask? Because Josh Bell is sitting 8th in all of MLB. The only 2 other Twins in the top 100 are Royce Lewis and Matt Wallner. Will things stay that way? Of course not. Will the Twins stay above .500? Probably not. But it’s spring in Minnesota and winter was a period of time we’d like to forget. So big thanks to Josh Bell for making the grass a bit greener. Enjoy your Friday!

Twins (Bradley) Vs Tigers (Skubal): 6:40 pm CDT, 4/7/25
Brett replied to C-Gangster's topic in Archived Game Threads
Since I haven’t committed yet to Twins TV this year, I have to find other ways to enjoy the game. Tonight, I’ve been enjoying the heck out of this forum and trying to guess what the score might be. I just cheated and looked at ESPN…now I know why everyone seems so giddy. Keep up the stellar work! -

Trying to get these permutations correct - if Larnach is traded, then Bell can be the principal DH, and Clemens and Caratini can share 1B. The net effect on the batting order is trading Larnach’s bat for Clemens or Caratini, which doesn’t seem better. It might even be a little worse, although that is apparently offset by better fielding. Somewhere, Jeremy Zoll has his head in his hands thinking about the fact that about 8 guys on the projected roster have indistinguishable qualities.

The Braves probably wouldn’t trade for Larnach for the same reasons we want to trade him. If they call the Twins, it might be for Austin Martin.

If watching baseball in the sunshine doesn’t make one think about sipping on a beer, maybe think instead about the Twins current roster construction. That oughta do it.

Minnesota Twins Pitchers and Catchers Report - 2026
Brett replied to John Bonnes's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Outlined against a gray February sky the four horsemen of Spring Training rode into Fort Myers. You know their names…roster questions, labor unrest, payroll limits, and John Bonnes. Today in Minneapolis, we have sunshine and (relative) warmth. May it be a sign unto us all. -
It seems like this article could have just started and ended with “be better than Larnach”, but there’s some nuance here. Martin and Roden could be platoon partners in LF, or they could be the 4th and 5th OF if Larnach starts in LF, or if one of the kids forces their way on to the roster and into the starting lineup (fun, but unlikely). It’s a plethora of options for the Twins over the next several weeks. I just hope that we roster deserving players due to their talent level rather than their option status.

The Pohlads Set Derek Falvey Up To Fail
Brett replied to Eric Blonigen's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
He’s gone and I don’t care to re-litigate any further. And while I anxiously consume articles like “Just Who Is the 9th-best LF in the System?”, I acknowledge the real need to just fast forward to the day John reposts “Pitchers and Catchers Report”. Anyone else ready?- 51 replies
