Could someone again tell me why McCusker isn't up (striking out) with the big club????

Probably something to do with the fact he has a 600 ops in the 200 PAs since he was sent down.

He's simply not good.

What is the point of trading for 2 more LH hitting outfielders who K a ton and can't hit?

That's the curious thing about Roden, is he HASN'T struck out a lot in the minors, including AAA.

So, why the shift to a strike out heavy player in his short time in the majors so far is a big question mark.

Stewart's old, his ERA in LA is about 5 and now he's injured and hasn't pitched (unless today) in about a week.  I wouldn't hang my hat on hating this trade... what value did you expect?

The Dodgers placed Stewart on the 15 day IL with right shoulder inflammation.

He also doesn’t play defense very well.  At least Outman is very good defensively.  Hopefully he can figure something out and get back to his 2023 form.

Outman was never injured. He just never got on track starting in 2024.

Sure glad we don't have any Twins players that just never got on track starting in 2024.

Oh, wait... 🤔

Maybe he strikes out so much is because Baldelli told him to hit homeruns or he'll be DFA'd?

In theory a Buxton Outman Keirsey outfield would save twice as many runs as it would generate.

Addition by subtraction.

He shifts teams and his strikeout rate shifts too.

Interesting.

Beef Stew had a 4.91 era in 4 outings with the Dodgers and is now on the IL. I didn’t like the trade at the time but Stewart has already pitched more innings in 25 than he ever has in MLB. Jury is still out on this trade.

Who cares about an ERA in 3.2 IP? It's not even worth mentioning.

Honestly I think the fan base underrated how unavailable Stewart was with the Twins, particularly when referring to him as a "weapon," or some kind of stalwart in the pen. That said, he had years of control left, so it's not like he was some expiring that needed to be moved, and his value might've peaked when MN sold. Outman was roster fodder in LA. The Twins got another LH OF, one who has struggled massively with the bat, to add to their every growing collection of LH OFers. The fit, the timing of the swap, and really the lack of value in return makes the move questionable at best. We can point to the fact that Stewart is having shoulder issues and his best case scenario is making it back for the postseason, but if you're the Dodgers you don't care. You dropped an unusable player for a potential difference making relief arm. They make that move 100/100 times.

Outman is a very good centerfielder. The last three years the Twins have spent money to acquire a one year solution as the back up centerfielder in Taylor, Margot and Bader. At -11 OAA across 1500+ major league innings Outman has established himself to be very good with the glove in centerfield. He doesn’t need to be an average major league hitter to help this team as their inexpensive back up centerfielder.

This is Outman's final option year, so he'll need to be on the 26 man all year next year or exposed to waivers.

Carrying outfielders that don't hit doesn't help anybody.

My guess is he's not on the 40 man roster opening day.
