Pereda should be doing any catching, he’s an actual catcher. Outman Keirsey and Miranda are the only other guys on the 40. I think I read somewhere why Outman went straight to AAA but I cannot find the article.

Saw KC lineup on MLB.com. No Witt - looks like Rocco isn’t the only one who has get away day lineups.

What is this obsession with Gasper.  In no world should he be playing all 3 games of a series much less catching.  Why even call up Pereda if you aren't going to play him.  

This roster mismanagement is so frustrating, at least play guys who might be on the roster next year.

The only thing I can see is they aren’t quite comfortable with Pereda and want to work with him a bit before they throw him back in. He is the emergency catcher until they get him up to speed. I also think Gasper is running out of chances. He better flash soon.

Roku channel ad for the game shows Witt and Lewis. Neither one is in the starting lineup. Should’ve done Salvy and Gasper 😆

I’ve seen about half of Gasper’s PAs. I’ve seen him hit about three balls hard. AFAIK he richly deserves his batting average and OPS.

He’s raked at AAA and actually hit with some power, but looks like a pitcher trying to hit in the majors. He’s approaching the point where you can’t blame a small sample size for his results.

Right.  I mean, it's extraordinarily unlikely that either Gasper or Pereda is part of the long term catching plan.  Might as well see Gasper attempt to catch a few MLB games.  There is a 1% chance he'll become the next Brian Harper catcher conversion success story.  No...probably less than 1%, but the season is lost anyway.

Also note that there are basically 4 AAA players in the Twins starting line up today  Gasper, Fitzgerald, Martin, and Rodent ....they have spent most of their season at a lower level.

If they are not comfortable with a third string catcher then send him down.  It only happens once or twice a year in all of baseball that you need a third catcher.

I so much enjoy watching Buxton as a player, but his injuries (understand that he can't help it) over the years must be close to setting a team record.

Playing Gasper is 100% on Rocco.  Being on the 26 man is Rocco too due to his gotta have a 3rd emergency catcher obsession.

I have seen him behind the plate and he missed a pitch and almost broke the umpire's arm.  I have seen this at the youth level but not in the major leagues.  And it was not a mix up of the signs, he just missed catching the pitch.

Well...there are not many options..Perada doesn't probably know the system or signs yet...only been on the team a couple of days...guess they could put Clemens behind the plate as he was the 3rd backup ...or maybe bring Conger out of retirement

Pereda was signed to AAA three weeks ago.  Are the signs that much different.  If he can't play then why is he even up here then.

Clemens has never caught a game in the major leagues, every team has a guy they designate as the emergency catcher, key word emergency.  I am not sure why he would even be a consideration to start a game.

Gasper is playing because we traded moran for gasper and falvey is trying to get his money's worth  ...

Falvey Iives on hope not talent ,   hasn't he proved it over and over again ...

Hey...there are SO many craters with the Twins right now including many unproven pitchers....look at this roster..  Gasper stinks as do others on this roster. There are players like Lewis who are not performing. Yes, Clemens is a 3rd option emergency .
