The radar does not look promising for playing a baseball game today. My guess is they play a double header on Thursday 

 

This was the way it looked yesterday too. Couple days heal but can also steal momentum.

Weird to play Baltimore so soon again after the series at Target Field....

Officially postponed to tomorrow but the weather looks tough also. We shall see. Game one, 12:05.  McCusker doubleheader add? Cards-Phils also PPD. The win streaks are intact.

If they don't call up a SP, they'd need to pitch someone on short rest on Sunday

Festa last pitched on the 6th. I bet he gets called up for the day.

According to Dougie, Kody Funderburk will be the 27th man tomorrow.

I bet the Pohlads are behind this. Fill up tomorrow with Twins coverage so nobody pays attention to the Wolves possibly clinching the West Conference Semifinals

I think instead that means the Wolves will take any attention from the Twins during two Twins games, not one.

If the Pohlad's were smart (insert laugh track) they'd have a back-to-back double header like God intended and start at 11 AM and try to avoid fans leaving for Target Center next door.

Well, since they’re in Baltimore ‘next door’ would be quite a trip. Anyway, to dance around the rain tomorrow the first game is scheduled for noon, and the second 30 minutes after conclusion of the first.

Well Correa ended up with 3 days off in a row.  Hope he comes back swinging as well as he did last week.  

I worry about loss of momentum. Cardinals same.

The timing sure points to a Zebby Matthews start on Sunday for the Twins. Interesting 26 man roster move though.

I was wondering about that too. The rain out in the Saints game didn’t help.  It could have been Festa’s game. He hasn’t pitched since the 6th. If he doesn’t pitch today I would assume he had a simulated game yesterday to be ready for Sunday. Matthews last pitched on the 10th so the 18th would be an extended space between starts. Either is available.

I wondered why not pitch Festa today. If he is healthy maybe they had the rotation set for the Guardians and Royals next week and didn’t want to interrupt that. Maybe they want to take the opportunity to set up the rotation differently and it will be Festa or Matthews in a different day.

As for the 26 they may DFA Alcala or I guess the could option Woods Richardson.

Alcala's like a bad penny - just keeps showing up. He has good, not great, stuff so I guess the Twins are just holding out hope that he can put it together but he's basically only playable if you're down big or have a 5+ run lead in the 8th or 9th. He's wasting a roster spot at this point.

He had that meltdown last year in Texas and has been pretty bad since then. Mental part might be too much to overcome.
