Eris Verified Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 The Orioles are a much better team than the Twins right now. Hard to expect success. DJL44 and Peter 2

Losing is one thing. But not being at all competitive is another. The poor averages now called the Sano line? Interesting as he is hitting .270 for the Angel's. I'm so tired of the it's a marathon comments. I just don't think they care about games in April. It shows But this year they may not have the horses to take over the central like last year. Plus the can always blame the injuries. They got it made. It’s a marathon alright, and this is how the twins have started chpettit19 and USAFChief 2

You shouldn't blame the injuries when you load your team with players that can play multiple positions and fill in for players that get injured. Which is exactly what they do/did. IMHO, I think ownership just doesn't care about winning. The FO, Rocco and his coaches, have a free pass because ownership doesn't care, as long as they make money. The only way things will change is if/when we get new Owners who actually want to win and that won't happen as long as fans keep supporting the current product on the field. Is anyone really satisified and happy with the additions they made this off-season to a playoff type team? If you are, why? They improved nothing and actually went backwards. They'll make excuses, such as the TV deal and the injuries, and a player or two regressed that they didn't expect, but even good teams have injuries and players that regress and they still play "good" baseball, unlike what we are seeing from this team. How good are they really at evaluating talent? Why sign guys like Gallo last year and Santana and Margot this year? They aren't good. Then they give precedent to them at the start of the season over guys like Kirilloff, Miranda and Martin. If Simeon Woods Richardson is not good enough to make the opening day roster then how did he pitch a great game against Detroit? No, his spot first belonged to DeSclafani who couldn't even make it through spring training and now Varland who belongs in the pen or AAA. I'm telling you, the guys in charge of this team are a joke. Period.

"....on Wednesday. The Orioles will have former Minnesota prospect Tyler Wells on the bump and then will have their last off day of the month." Wells was placed on the IL this evening due to "elbow inflammation". Pablo Day Lopez for us. I hope his last two starts are truly "off" days, because this getaway game is where Baldelli plays the B team, and I'm not sure what that even looks like, now. Maybe, with the day off Thursday, he will have the guys be big boys and gut it out and field his best team possible. Twins should win this game and if they don't it will continue to a really bad April.

There's never any urgency with this organization, and to follow up last season with one of the steepest payroll cuts in the league was just idiotic. Fan morale seems back to pre-2019 levels.
David Maro Verified Member Posted April 17, 2024 Posted April 17, 2024 After they lose the next 7,maybe people will know for sure this season is over.I don't know about you but I am tired of watching pitches thrown down the middle of the zone.I know yes now and again one will leak over.Varland needed to go with Wallner to St Paul and SWR should of been given the chance to stay for another start.Sometime a really big shakeup is needed. They can't let Chicago sweep or even take 2.
