  1. For once I agree with the manager. I think Lee will make himself a MLB SS. You don't have to be Ozzie Smith to play SS. Cal Ripken didn't have blazing speed but he knew where to position himself and knew how to play the game. In regard to offense. He can work on improving his bat speed. I'd like to think the Twins have one or two people in the organization that will let Lee know his offseason will be adding speed. He had enough talent to make it through the minors quickly. His inadequacies didn't show as much. Now that he's in the bigs, he has the coaching (assumed) to address those issues and make him a viable pro.
  2. The Twins had over a third of their roster traded away. That means the players traded had some value and they still couldn't win? The problem isn't the front office, the problem is in the dugout.
  3. Festa seems like his stuff is good enough for closer material. He can air it out, has a decent pitch mix, and a good strikeout ratio. For the youngens out there, kind of compares to Rick Aguilara.
  4. It's not often that you'll get a consensus from the media, but... every site I've seen have categorized the Twins, the Twins fans, and the still rostered players, as the biggest losers in the trade deadline deals. I didn't think it possible but the Twins have surpassed the Vikings Herschel Walker trade in regard to worst MN trades ever.
  5. There is just no reason to continue the charade that this team can compete in the playoffs. Sell Castro, Bader, and any other asset that isn't considered a long term player. At this point I'd rather watch a team that can contend in 2027 or 2028 than a team that is nearly a .500 club.
  6. It seems to me a guy that's a clutch hitter should be a great "off the bench" fellow. Randy Bush made a career out of pinch hitting and occasional starts. Put Clemons at first and give him some days off against lefties.
  7. What's the over/under on games played until Lewis hits the injurred list again? Snakebit that fella is.
  8. The Athletic is owned by the NY Times and the NY Times is garbage. Therefore, anything that comes from that bird cage liner is worth less than the paper it's printed on.
  9. That is important indeed! That would be another reason.
  10. One way Detroit does it is not having Baldelli for a manager.
  11. If, and most likely when, the Pale Hose overtake the Twins will there be enough revolt to get rid of the manager? Nah. I'm sure it's just a bump in the road.
  12. I may have missed it but have the Twins actually announced it or is it all Dan Hayes?
  13. Ferda I'm only familiar with the podcast in name only. I'd love for someone the get me the transcripts!
  14. I haven't heard that information before. Not a dig but I don't know how it's pretty clear unless there's inside info. In which case, good on you for having connections.
  15. I fully expected a Baldelli termination if the Twins got swept and gave up another boatload of runs. I'd venture to guess most clubs would have replaced their manager after two large losing streaks.
  16. It wouldn't surprised me to see Ober hit the injured list. When a pitcher struggles like Ober has been it's because he's tipping pitches or fighting through something.
  17. Can't help but wonder if this injury along with Pablo's has anything to do with having pitchers overthrow. Once upon a time pitchers would throw 88-92 with their fastball and last a couple more innings. Now they're throwing 93-96. Although, I did talk to a former MLB reliever who believes the pitching guns have been set to a higher speed, so maybe the speeds aren't a factor and it's just more MN bad luck.
  18. If Maranda starts to get hot - trade him. There are enough prospects that will fill his role. As for Julien,...Korean or Japan leagues will be about his only options.
  19. Could it be possible Gleeman is giving Rocco direction in the dugout? If that's the case. then yes, Gleeman deserves criticism.
  20. Rocco Baldelli is the manager. What you're saying is true, but it just won't happen under his watch.
  21. Well, Rocco made it through "firing day". The Pohlad's really just don't care.
  22. For many teams throughout baseball history an off day after a crap start, getting swept at home, and a historic collapse the season before would mean the manager would get his walking papers. That could be considered the start of a winning streak.
