  1. I'm sure the Twins system can turn him from a great starting prospect to a serviceable reliever in no time!
  2. Breaking records in triple A means a player spent too much time there.
  3. Julien ahead of Lee - No. No. No. No. He has a brick glove and a hole in his bat.
  4. Sign him, have him fight for his position. If he plays like the way he was projected to, and has shown flashes of, it will be a steal. If he doesn't pan out, someone will take a flyer on him in a trade.
  5. Now that MLB has disallowed the shift Kepler has a chance at playing some meaningful years...for someone else.
  6. I'm not afraid of Mpls. I don't think most of the others I spoken with are either. It's more or less the way everything was handled. Although, there are some that are more worried about theft than they are violence. In regard to Montana, it's the perception people have of the city. It isn't just Montana guy that has that perception. That's the point. The perception of Mpls has deteriorated. Defend your city, I think it's great you do. But that doesn't change how people think of it.
  7. Those are legit points. But as you mentioned, most people don't know that.
  8. Since I wasn't speaking in code I guess I'd like to know what that's code for. What is the backwards thinking?
  9. I agree with this statement, although not the part "won't have fun anyway". It is a nuisance for anyone outside of the metro area. Dealing with metro traffic is a pain (494 sucks and it's time in their life that no one gets back). Then finding a parking is generally a pain. The days of the Met were great with one huge parking lot and summer tailgating was a ritual. When you find parking it's generally an hour or two of middle class wages. After you've given up that time and money you have to go through a labyrinth to get out that takes another 30 minutes of your time. There are many who run this website who have no idea or understanding of this. There are many, and in my job I talk to a LOT of people, who have sworn off Mpls since the riots. If you don't believe that, trail me for a week on my job and learn something. Just had someone I know return from Montana. They went to a wild west type show and the MC told the crowd that things in Montana were different than they were in Chicago and Minneapolis. Congrats. You're in the same convo as Chicago. I love a good beer. I will overspend for a really good one. But I don't want to spend close to $20 for one in a plastic glass. The same goes for many food items. Lastly, prices. Ticket prices aren't cheap and bringing a family of four can easily cost over $200. With that said, who wants to spend over $200 for tickets, drive from Frostbite Falls MN, and deal with the above?
  10. There needs to be a lot of changes next year. What happened to this squad is toxic and has no doubt affected many of the players. There should be no less than five position battles next year - C, 1B, 2B, LF, & RF. Hopefully the new manager will find some players that want to win.
  11. I've watched a handful of games over the past couple of years. The playoffs are included. After watching Julien in those playoff games I pretty much figured he'd up where he's at now due to his "all or nothing" two strike approach to hitting. He'll never be Arraez, but learning to put the ball in play would go a long way as he's obviously got enough power to find the gaps.
  12. If you consider Baldelli the equipment manager, then yes. Fire the equipment manager. And while he's on the way out the door, make sure to follow him out.
  13. Interesting you mentioning support. MLB attendance is up! Twins baseball attendance is down. Not by much but enough to say, "if MLB is up, why are the playoff contending Twins not bringing in fans?" Is it: A) Rocco Baldelli's horrible managing style B) Front office not having ink for contract and check signing pens C) Outstate MN still doesn't want to go to Mpls D) Nobody wants to pay a weeks salary for parking, food/beverage, and a poorly managed game. E) All of the above
  14. I wonder....can a team use that information with a pitcher going through the lineup the third time through or does it just work the first two times. Asking for a friend.
  15. In defense of the front office. Their track record or trading for pitchers is atrocious. That is, of course, unless they are looking to trade for pitchers to place on the IL.
  16. That is a possibility. Perhaps you could explain the bit. Then again....maybe you don't understand my bit. And quite frankly, I don't understand my bit.
  17. I've seen some pretty big breakdowns before, but this team is pushing to be the biggest in my time. The thing is I'm not surprised, and it's not even because of the nameless guy that leads in the clubhouse. If a professional team is going to have a colossal choke, why wouldn't it be one from Minnesota?
  18. A rudderless ship with a clueless captain tends to not sail very far.
  19. Everyone deserves a second chance if they earn it. Based on the HR video, he looks like he's kind of a d bag. It will take a lot for teams to believe he's a changed man.
