Took Kirilloff a long time to get going for home.  Coaching indecision, I assume.

Also two sounds, which normally would be a hit batter, and catcher's glove. This time it was catcher's glove and ump's pad, i think.

That's entirely, 100 percent on the runner. Coach has no input on that decision to go home or not

He’s got to shave that. Looks awful.

I'm hoping he's sworn not to shave his beard until he hits his first home run of the year

Kirilloff's dad was a well-regarded coach as I recall.  I just don't see the baseball instincts coming from Alex.

HBP is a dead ball, in all situations, isn't it?  So shouldn't the motivation be to go if the ball gets far away from the catcher, since you'll risk little and if it's HBP they'll just call you back to third?

Oh lord.  How many weeks will we need to suffer, then?

All true. But the decision to run/not run when a ball gets past the catcher is on the runner.

I would agree only other thing I can think of is the angle the ball bounced it may have been behind Perez from the third base view. Since Julien was spinning away he couldn't motion to come home right away and being a little slow he probably didn't want to get hosed with the middle of the order up

I checked Witt Jr.s number at MLB, it has been a long time since the Twins had some one hit field successfully at an early age.
