tony&rodney Verified Member Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 Wallner has some real intriguing talent. There hasn't been any talk about what he is like as a teammate, but he does seem quirky. What I like about Wallner is that he seems able to make some adjustments at the plate. He drove a number of two strike pitches to the opposite field for base hits for the Saints and he hunts fastballs pretty good. His K-rate is better this year. I hope he can keep it going because the Twins could use a bopper and Wallner looks like he hangs in against left handers as well.

Mike Sixel Old-Timey Member Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 I'll be surprised if Gallo is on the roster after the deadline. They are giving him a shot in center, and he can't hit ....

twins_89 Verified Member Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 This has to be close to the end of the Gallo experiment. A sub .570 OPS with a K% over 50% in July should mean he will no longer be with the team after the trade deadline. ashbury and Mike Sixel 2
Nashvilletwin Verified Member Posted July 26, 2023 Posted July 26, 2023 I guess that inside off the plate pitch is going to be a strike all night - at least with the Twins at the plate.

I just look at putting a batter ninth means the odds are 8 out of 9 that he goes the plate fewer times than someone else, and with Gallo that suits me fine. Jocko87 1

Lol Was he on TV as well? He was just on radio for a half-inning. As Corey said, "It's clear he's not from Watertown, S.D." Jenkins also dropped in a couple of "Yes, sir/no, sir" responses as one can easily imagine from a North Carolinian.
